I've been having that issue where it just refuses to open after I open the vehicle selector or do anything UI related really You have to restart the map for it to work again, gets annoying quick
I think the new UI looks really nice, but in my experience it's buggier than the old one, i can't resize ANY of the apps, the map in the Navigation app goes off-center every time i open a menu so it becomes almost useless This one isn't really a problem but it would be nice to have the option to change the various UI colors back, it's too dark for my taste
One little thing is that I prefer having the UI options when you click escape to be to the side, I’ve just become used to it.
If only it was that easy... We looked at so many different things already, they all have their own issues and drawbacks... Feel free to share if you have anything particular in mind, maybe we missed the really good stuff
Not sure why light mode was removed. Dark mode isnt any easier on the eyes when you are switching between the dark menu and the bright environment.
I think it is awful. It seems chaotic. The design is nicer but usability is horrendous. On a widescreen monitor I need to travel miles with the cursor to get to things, that used to be clustered in the middle quarter of the screen. Plus the radial menu is completely broken, it can't be brought up. No, E key does nothing, rebinding it to another key doesn't help either. Sounds are annoying, mute option would be nice.
Have the interface on another device with its own cpu? Anyone who has a PC that can run beamng, would probably have a tablet or phone. The "beamng controller app" seems to work flawlessly and lag free on my system. It would work well with people with steering wheel game controllers too? Hey Google... Spawn traffic. Hey Google... Gravity from Jupiter, Hey Google... Tire pressure 50psi (err..5000psi)
I looks great, I like the design but some important features are missing now like the "spawn traffic" option. Don't want to use the UI-App tho because it's annoying with that app in the field of view. The UI app also seems to be outdated. If you'd bring the features of the old radial menu back into the new interface it would be perfect. Keep up the great work!
I think the italic fonts don’t look classy enough, even just a straight version of the same font would look nicer in my opinion. Just a small nitpick..
Personally, I really like the new UI. The top bar is clearer, with the old one I'd often click the wrong menu. In addition it just runs so much better than the old one. The problems I have are: 1. The radial menu situation is causing a ton of confusion, this E key business ain't right 2. The sounds need refining, they sound too science-fictiony or something to me.
I couldnt agree more, i love the game and same, this is the first update that i think is a bit of a downgrade, in my opinion they could add an option/official mod or simular to use the old ui or Keep the old UI and add the new as an official mod while its still being worked on
Just use Dear ImGui haha Okay but after doing a painful bit of googling, I've only managed to come up with: Nuklear: https://github.com/Immediate-Mode-UI/Nuklear (OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan) raygui: https://github.com/raysan5/raygui (OpenGL only) NanoGUI: https://github.com/mitsuba-renderer/nanogui (OpenGL only) For the non UI app stuff (e.g. main menu), you could possibly just write your own GUI code though since it only consists of buttons, images, and some scrolling menus.
I'm having the same exact issue, the UI element is added in the UI editing menu, however it doesn't appear when pressing the menu button
I have a 1440p monitor and let me tell you. No matter the display mode setting, the main menu looks super soft, like it's being upscaled. Edit: I have uploaded a PNG of what it looks like. --- Post updated --- Can we like stop with the UI changes. I'm already sick of this new UI
You can turn off the menu blip-blip sounds in Options > Audio > Effects Vol=0. It also kills time trial countdown beeps and what else but it's a good trade-off in the meantime before they add the mute option. And hit Ctrl-L to "refresh" the E-key if it doesn't bring up the radial menu.
New UI is a massive improvement overall, faster, wayyy better designed and looks great. I've had a few bugs myself (disapearing radial menu) but aside from that and a few others mentioned above, just a case of ironing out bugs imo.
Can we like stop with the UI changes. I'm already sick of this new UI. View attachment 858701 It is way slower, you must be on a NASA Supercomputer.
I have a decent computer, but generally every button in it (aside from the vehicles menu which is just recycled over) it loads in about .1 second after its cached. On the old UI most of this was just clunky and slow as hell, just how it went for me.
