Currently remapping the lights to the SBR final textures: I’ve decided I’ll texture the light housing and the rear reflectors, but at least for first release, not the main lights. Then I’ll be separating low from high beam in the headlights, Then more trim levels of lights Then I’ll either be unwrapping the roofs or having a go at making some wheels (such as replacing the SunSports on the 190-4) and so on
It's for the textures, so that the model knows where to place each pixel of the texture accordingly to the unwrap. Basically it's the model, but on a 2d surface, with the parts placed like you want.
You know how you make paper models by assembling flat surfaces into a 3d shape? Basically perform that in reverse, and you're un-wrapping. Unwrapping itself is used to turn the 3d shape of a model into a collection of flat surfaces, for texturing.
Lights finished to full-release specs! That is being SBR on the light up bits but the buckets and rear reflectors are custom. Light beams separated into 2 bulb combinations:
ONe thing I just was thinking, since both this car and the SBR are Hirochis, it would realistically make sense for them to share some parts, so I don't think you absolutely have to remake every part. No pressure and you can do whatever you want with the mod, but just saying.
