Audio Copyright?

I wanted to know if a specific sound effect, not music, that is copyrighted, if used as an engine sound is allowed? The rules say ALL copyrighted material, but I cannot find anything about audio. Music would obviously be taken down, but if it is within some copyright rule or whatever, would it be allowed?

What I mean is if I used some random sound, from some random game, that isn't music but is copyrighted, is it prohibited? Even if I use part of it? Or am I forced to recreate it in audacity?

 

you can put it on the forums as long as you credit the original author, but it cannot be uploaded to the repository, and if the original author requests that it be taken down it must be taken down
