Re: General discussion chat Wait, you class 35mpg as good? Well, other than the small matter of the seats pointing the wrong way and the rear steering being incredibly odd to drive then yes. But the real answer is no, just no
Re: General discussion chat Ok after reading what you wrote I can understand where the guy was coming from. BUT IN WHAT UNIVERSE IS A GRAN MARQUIS A "TAIL HAPPY" CAR lmfao. a 350HP Camaro with a welded rear and drag slicks in the rain is a tail happy car, not a stock marquis. Although if I heard a knock from the engine and the thing had well over 200K I would turn and walk the other way. That car is used up and ready to be joy ridden through the back woods.
Re: General discussion chat Theoretically, maybe. But as long as you are being careful it's perfectly fine. Heck I can get my truck to spin its wheels at quarter throttle when the roads are damp. Rear wheel traction sucks in the thing but it is still rather controllable.
Re: General discussion chat Some people don't sell their cars because they want to but because they urgently need to up or downsize and as much as they love their current car they can't keep it. Sometimes they'll even go as far as making sure it goes to the right new owner. Chances are he decided a new driver shouldn't be going around in a rear wheel drive sedan and that it would be trashed, he wants his car to be properly treated in future. Stepdad did that when he sold his Renault 5 turbo apparently.
Re: General discussion chat Is it just me or is the Beamng Website going incredibly slow due to how many members are online
Re: General discussion chat It's a little slow for me, but not much, so it may just be you who is experiencing the bad stuff.
Re: General discussion chat Where my mom's 4 year old 4 cylinder struggles to reach 25MPG. (2010 Rav4 base model. It's kinda like a station wagon except stupid.)
Re: General discussion chat We get 25 from the turbo diesel with my mums terrible ability to drive stick (its a 6 speed at least). Thats still considered pretty poor over here. My car is officially stated at 50mpg I think, I can safely say it doesn't reach that, more like 30 but I don't drive it economically for 2 reasons: a) boring as fuck, b) it can be driven economically in city traffic just fine but attempting to join a motorway absolutely requires you to rev the weedy 57hp engine through the power band fully if you don't want to be anally raped by a truck. Thats an american designed 1.0 litre engine though Stupid GM. The VW bluemotion powerplants get better mileage *AND* performance, actually in an independent test at highways speeds the 1.2 litre version of my car got better mileage, I do alot of highway speed driving. Its just a terrible engine in general, nothing good about it at all.
Re: General discussion chat It's a 4 speed auto. My dad's car is an 04 Maxima 3.5 SE with a 6 speed manual. My dad usually gets 20-22MPG (He doesn't drive very economically) but I have seen it as high as 30. Whenever my mom drives for awhile it the avg MPG goes down to like 18-19. (She doesn't drive faster than my dad or anything.)
Re: General discussion chat about the website being slow: it just booted me off to my homepage without me doing anything, and when I tried to go back to beamng.com, it just sat there "waiting for beamng.com" and then just stops and went back to google again...I was going to say too, look how many people are flooding the forums with anywhere from 1 to 40 post-count. I guess steam is doing a good job at getting people to notice the game. Time for new servers!!!
Re: General discussion chat We used to get about 55mpg in our old Citroen xara picaso. We get about the same in our current hyundai I40, although they advertise the I40 as getting 65mpg, guess its close enough. Im not sure what our hyundai I10 gets but they advertise 65mpg for that as well. The I40 is diesel and the I10 is petrol. They are both pretty good for in the UK, but if you get the correct model most similar cars will hit the same mpg or better (ofc there are worse ones too).
Re: General discussion chat Just realized that I've been on the forums for a year now. Woo happy 1 year beamng birthday Beep Beep, Tapatalk coming through..
Re: General discussion chat Am I the only one who doesn't really like the switch to steam-only updating and running for BNG? I don't really like Steam all that much, and it probably slows down my performance a bit. I would like it if they kept the old updater but had Steam be the main updating system. - - - Updated - - - Oh, and the steam page already has had screenshots posted of terrible mods from sites that shall not be named. I can already tell how this is going to go.
