So, I've been toying around with the engine on the Toyota Soarer to make it a bit more race worthy, and I've been testing it out on the Donington track. I've been running into an issue whereby the creator of the track couldn't get the track to be really smooth, so the ride is fairly bumpy. Since the suspension is so hard that it feels like it's just welded together without springs, controlling the car at speed is an issue. Therefore I ask: How would one go about editing which values in the suspension files to allow it to handle the bumps easier?
I don't think that car is on the BeamNG website, I wouldn't use those cars, there bad in quality but you to edit the jbeam file, I think
The interior's aren't fleshed out, but the exteriors are well done, so it's passable IMO. I know you have to edit the JBEAM files, I just don't know HOW to edit them to soften the suspension, whether it's the strength values, damping values, or what.
I'm not the advanced car maker guy, but I think similar questions like how to make cars have camber and lowering cars if you try to find those threads
It isn't their appearance thats the problem. Its usually the JBeam, hell, alot of them simply slap a mesh ontop of the grand marshal JBeam with no alterations so you are essentially driving a grand marshal in disguise. You need to find the beam being used to simulate the coil spring (there will be 4 of them of course) and alter the spring and damp values on it. Where that beam is depends on the car. What values work is mostly trial and error. There is a tutorial on modding the covet somewhere which covers suspension alterations, same applies for most vehicles.
