I have too much time on my hands... "We initially thought Candella Motor Company were joking when they said they were going to return to their performance roots from the 60's. Well, Candella Performance are back again, this time with a compact crossover that's a little more than hot! What can we say about the Candella Casa that we already haven't? Candella have already answered our prayers by putting a larger 2.5L gasser 4-cylinder when we said the 1.5L turbo wasn't enough. Well, it seems that their Skunkworks have gotten ahold of the Casa as well. They've somehow managed to shove a 250HP 3.0L V6 in the thing! Mated exclusively to Candella's buttery smooth 8-speed automatic driving the front wheels through a brand new electronic differential, the Casa Sport is downright fast! We managed 0-60MPH in a little under 6.5 seconds, and Candella claim a limited top speed of 155MPH. Any faster, they say, and the twist beam rear suspension becomes too unstable. Despite the slightly old-fashioned rear end, the Casa Sport devastated our slalom and generated an astonishing 1.05G on the skid pad. The Casa Sport also received much bigger brakes than the standard Casa or Casa Turbo. Stops from 60MPH took an average of 112ft. That's good. Inside, Casa Sport is all sport. No leather, but Al Cantera on black vinyl. Material fit an finish are acceptable, but the materials themselves are cheap feeling. Seems Candella still struggle with interior quality these days. Candella Sport comes one way: Fully loaded. Prices are $50,999, add $400 for the 'Speed Green" paintwork on our test car. So, this is my dad's. It just came back from paint: I love it. We call it Purple Haze. It's the slowest car I've ever driven. A bicycle would give it a run for its money.
4.6 2-valve with an EVAP code. EVAP is causing lean condition on both banks. I'd be surprised if it's making 150HP right now. The entire powertrain in this car is very tired. I'm trying to convince my dad to Godzilla swap it, but no dice so far.
I mean, these cars are far from fast, but a 2-valve should definitely move faster than this. My dishwasher moves around the kitchen faster than this thing does.
