Actually, after checking out the metallic paint, I have some observations to report:

-It does metallic roughly the way older games did; the more metallic a vehicle's paint is, the greater the "contrast". No flake is visible. (Obviously intended to replicate factory metallic paint colors rather than metal flake.)
-Many black paints (even matte black!) use 100% metallic to appear darker. While the overall effect is quite striking, these "100% metallic" paints still appear more gloss than anything.

So it also makes me wonder if we will ever see "big" flake (as frequently seen on hot rods, also as seen in Forza as, apparently, the only way to get a metallic finish anymore.) Maybe it could be possible for some modder to do this with skins, but that's beyond me.

Wigeon shifter is in a weird place; animated MT shifters coming soon?

 

I'm guessing levels are gonna get PBR too? They look a little bit out of place compared to the cars.

 

Lovin the Pigeon remaster. but there is sadly one thing missing. a flatbed.

Also the chrominess slider doesn't seem to work, the metallic slider acting as a stand-in.

Chrominess isn't a physically based parameter, it's just a legacy slider for old materials.

 

how did he know?

OT: that bolide remaster's looking pretty fresh imo. Possible targa top, new air scoops, remodeled rear transaxle, the works.
Also, have we seen a front shot of the remastered bolide? If we haven't, they must have changed something pretty important.

Random Speculation: SBR-4 sounds so better now, could that mean new content in coming? (in configs, since there is S2R Adaptive suspension and drift steering)

 

If what we've seen of the remastered Bolide were all there is to it, it would have been released over a year ago. What is shown in the Vulkan API blog and the loading screen is the same as what appeared in the industrial teaser. There is something they are not showing us.

I suspect it will be released very soon, maybe even along with a hotfix for 0.23

I kinda hope that the Bolide finally gets a V12 when its remastered.

 

Honest opinion, delay it by one more year to fix that rear end.
