I agree. The update probably won't roll out until July. Mid-July I would say. If not the start of August is also possible.
I think there was a (possibly deleted) post in the discord that said the piano might not be updated to PBR right away for 0.23. I also don't think the maps use PBR, just the cars, although there are lighting and fx updates
I guess it could be a thing that they add in stages. guessing even if it was a late July update (tbh I didn't expect the Wendover update to be released when it did) the artist teams wouldn't have the texturing ready 100%. Talking about new textures, I would love to have some fake chrome aftermarket hubcaps.
yeah idk so would this mean if say mods for a car that added different body panels, would those need to be mapped or smth?
Yeah everything would presumably have to be updated to pbr to match the vehicle, though considering the maps aren’t updated yet I’m sure the textures are still backwards compatible
I would assume 'the old way' still works and looks like or similar as it used to but might need some type of converting
all the teasers that had been dropped yesterday plus the dev activity (they denied nothing) my guess still takes for today. wouldnt just make any sense if not. just my opinion
tdevs post are always 50% trolling and %50 real meaning so if i would need to bet im still in the game for today. Dont they always speedrunning for bugfixing? xD i just dont get why they leak all that stuff and then BOOM, nothing. lets just wait for the day and see if im wrong.
I mean, the definition of 'leak' is information that is not supposed to be out, getting out... so I dont think any of the leaks were intentional so using them as 'this is coming soon' isnt a good idea. This isnt valve, they dont intentionally 'leak'
The stuff they showed yesterday was definitly on purpose the preview plus the discord stuff soooo. my bad, you cant call that really leaks anymore
well it sounds like the holdup is bugs, which can be hard to deal with and predict. They could have had it planed for tuesday, fixed a bug, and in the process found another 5 they need to fix. Just like with everything, delays can crop up unexpectedly, and its good that they do. You dont want a update where it crashes often and barely works.
