That conclude it. Both me and fufsgfen were using tire mod, which added Racing Slicks in addition to a bunch of new wheels.
First post here, hello! The drift tires feel too loose, really! If they are slicks, why does a sport tires grip better and be more realistic interms of going sideways? Right off the bat the Drift tires feel just horrible, too loose and there is not enough grip. For sometime now, i've been fixing this "issue" by changing every drift config tires to sport tires that behave more realisticly and how you should expect to them behave on a realism standpoint. Feels like the Drift tires are for the casual players who don't really care how it feels with proper FFB wheel, heck even on a xbox controller the Drift tires feel too loose and they don't have a realism at all in my opinion.
Because they are meant to be slidey ? I don't know, but for me they are quite good for the drift configs.
Have you actually drifted a real professional drift car in real life? I assume not because not many people have. If not then how can you tell what drift tires feel like, and why do you say so much stuff about realism if you don't know how they are supposed to behave? And if yes then you should give more details than just saying "they don't have a realism in my opinion", this doesn't explain anything at all. I would assume that less professional drift cars would have sport tires instead of drift ones, but they would obviously get worn out really fast which would have to be simulated in the game, and I don't think this game simulates tire wear in this sense. So making dedicated drift tires is probably a lot less work.
Look at the horsepowers of the formula drift cars, they use slicks for a reason. My biggest problem is that the street tires offer more grip while drifting than a what is a supposedly a slicks. And btw i have drifted a proper drift build on a ice track with studded tires and varying amounts of snow top of the ice. Atleast i know what too loose for asphalt feels like.
What data you have to back up this claim? Problem here is that you might have such impression, but actual data, like g-forces etc. can show different story. Tire sounds happen quite lot differently between street tires and slicks in game and if you drive around and rely on how tires feel, then that difference alone can give you impression that is not very truthful. Have wheels debug and G-forces as well as pedals apps on screen and record video of the same car under same conditions, then compare if what you are seeing from data is actually matching to your impression, most of the time it is not, because humans are not precision tools observing such behavior. With some tires one can have lot of sliding before any indication by tire sounds and I believe that is something that is misleading a lot of people to think something about tire physics that is then not quite actual truth, but makes one feels like it.
I really would love tire heat!!! It would make drag racing so much better, but one thing still bugs me... Sheer physics. I feel like tire punctures are a bit... interesting https://www.beamng.com/attachments/screenshot_00000-png.19447/ And that sheer physics, (especially with wind shields) are a bit lacking. Ripping metal would be a dream of mine, but besides that one thing beamng is one of the greatest, most realistic, and most entertaining games I have ever, and will ever play.
