Well... I mean... you can do burnouts, and tire slap (if your referring to axle hop) is a thing. The only thing is that axle hop occurs when the suspension damping, spring rate, tire damping, and tire spring rate are not in sync with each other, and on leaf sprung vehicles that have to little axle movement support (basically almost entirely supported by the leaf springs alone) So the fact that you don't see any axle hop when launching in the muscle cars means that the devs did a very good job at designing the suspension systems in the vehicles to prevent that from happening, not so much that the physics wouldn't actually create it if given the opertunity. The real feature we were all looking for, lets be honest.
Is there also plans to have different types of grip, like offroad tires grip better offroad but worse onroad, or slicks that grip well onroad but have little grip on grass?
You sir have not lived. tire slap, as you can see, is when someone (usually an Aussie brethren in a V6 Commodore with a locked diff), gets a little too carried away, pops the tyre, and it, well, slaps the guard. Its an art form.
Well... if you pop the tire, it can actually do this. The only thing that is missing is tire heat and wear to be able to pop that tire by nothing more than a burnout. But I have had tires come apart and tear fenders off of vehicles... its just exceptionally rare and requires that vehicle have the proper collisions to enable it to happen.
The problem I've seen is that the tire and wheel seem to have a weird node groups setup so the tire becomes invisible when it gets far enough from the wheel (so when it partially detaches for example). And the tires only collide with the body on a few vehicles including the D-Series Prerunner, and still everyone complains that they get stuck.
It will be cool if, when you hit something, the paint of your car get some scratch. For example, when you hit the wall with the side of your car by making a turn and it don't damage your car, it will be cool to have some scratch on it. Another thing that can be cool is dust. When you go on a dirty path, your vehicle will be dirty. --- Post updated --- It would be great if they did that
I loved the idea of (Dothero) and put it here so that the game developers can look at the idea --- Post updated --- It's great when walking on mud gets the tires dirty like (Rally)
Uh, can we have a puncture effect in which the air from the tire will come out? Like one in gta4 or gta5, which can add realism!
I think he means like slow deflation of the tire, like if you puncture it and it slowly deflates instead of going pop and being flat instantly
Idk if this possible with the current way pressure works unless they could delay pressure changes based on object volume or something somehow. Also currently when it pops a huge chunk of it disappears so irl if it happen it would pretty much deflate the tire instantly.
I wish they would make the flat tires less weird in general. It's weird having polygons just go missing, and you'd think the beams/node would be capable of a shear force so you could actually dislodge or throw the tire.
