Update Speculation thread

As others have stated, it would make sense that the pigeon would get a remaster alongside the wigeon, as the former is in absolutely abysmal shape. However, I feel like there will be more vehicle content than just the pigeon remaster and the wigeon.

Some possibilities for the remaining content (probably only one or two of these, there's no way they'd do all this for the summer update):
- Bolide remaster (teased last summer)
- H Series content update (teasers from last year and post by stoat)
- Grand Marshal content update (GM remaster was released as a work in progress back in 2019)
- 5 door hatchback covet? (Note the recently changed body name)
- SBR4 TTS2R? (Given the recently added S2R parts for the SBR)
- ttSport ETK K series? (Given the ttSport text on the driving academy livery)

 

Why limit speculation to a 5 door hatchback? If they're doing the Covet, a sedan and maybe even coupe would go right along with it...

 

The reason I speculate a five door hatchback is the fact that the current body is called the "three door hatchback unibody". Beam never specifies doors on a body unless there are bodies of the same style but with differing door counts, which makes me think a 5 door hatchback is planned.

For example, the LeGran's sedan body is just called "sedan unibody", as it has no other bodies of the same type with different door counts. However, the bluebuck specifies door count on its sedan and hardtop bodies as each have two and four door variants.

I guess my concern with a covet sedan is that it would feel a bit redundant with the older pessima, as it's already a sedan from the same company in the same time period.

 

The Civic and Accord both sold well here in the U.S. ...

 

In my opinion from watching the Sebring-Vanguard CitiCar that Aging Wheels reviewed, the Ibishu Wigeon looks to possibly be electric.

And it might possibly have a brushed DC electric motor like the CitiCar, since they're both pretty much wedges.

The Covet body has been called “3-Door Hatchback Unibody” since the 0.5.3 update in 2016, when body slots were added to all vehicles. In no way does it indicate an imminent alternate body style.

 

Honestly I’m surprised that no one has made a mod that puts the pigeon steering wheel on the left side. I know the closest thing to that is the LHD version of the ibishu Dove mod (4 wheeled pigeon), and even that mod is partially outdated.

Gabester (re)uploaded this a month ago, kinda hoping this becomes the wigeon trailer theme due to the name (and also the fact that it's really good like most of Gabe's work). I can already hear it playing with close up pans of the wigeon in the black showroom. It kinda has this quirky vibe, idk how to describe it, much like the wigeon itself.

 

What has the name cheddar to do with the Wigeon though?

 

It's more or less shaped like a wedge of cheese. In fact, googling 'cheese wedge car' brings up pictures of the Vanguard Citicar that other forum users have been comparing its styling to.


I can totally see @gabester pulling 'Cheddar' out of the archives for use in the trailer for this vehicle, especially if it does turn out to be electric or have electric options. There's something in the drawn-out electronic tones of song that just seems to mesh perfectly with the vehicle archetype.
