Update Speculation thread

Wait, how many cylinders does a bond bug have? We could maybe have a new engine sound! ( If it's 1 or 2 cylinders)

 

I think the Bond Bug had 4 cylinders.

 

I personally think that looks like a car from back to the future

 

It's probably the metallic paint combined with the odd design - if it were matte I think it would look more realistic (not that I mind of course )

 

Without the wheels it looks like it could fly

I think he means the future cars not the DeLorean.

 

2 things
1. as baseless speculation, there will be a high performance motorbike engine swap because there is a Bond Bug IRL that has a Hayabusa engine in it.
2. For genuine speculation, I guess the Pigeon remaster is up next due to the Widgeon being also from Ibishu and also a small car that could be powered by the i3 diesel and the 600(?) cc engine (which also needs a revamp bc internals aren’t strong enough for maximum possible rpm.)

 

I can’t wait to throw the Widgeon into a wall at 80 mph

 

Bloody hell its so bad i love it. I Will crash the worm ( my nickname for it ) Lots and lots.

I think we have the Covet ( common 80s subcompact car )
Autobello ( Common eco car of the 50s/60s ) and even kinda into the 70s.


Then from Japan we have the Miramar a Japan car when they started to become common in other markets.

But we never had a CHEAP car for the sake of being cheap.

OK we had the bird ( pigeon ) But that is a Car that No offense felt rushed. And dated. I mean it is fun and i do love it but never had a wow factor to it. Other then 3 wheels. BTW i miss the belt drive for the wheel


BUT this bond bug worm will be HOT.

Light wright ( wayyyy Less then my W211 IRL... Hell way less then my sisters Yaris )
So depending what engines we get. Should be hell fun.

It will be good to get some kinda crapp 4 door version ( imo )


So this is that i think it may come with ( again no way of knowing )
Base model, i dunno with a 20/30 HP engine. SLOW Basic with a cheaper range of seats. Plastic with a cover on them. And a 3 speed manual box.

Mid range model with Better seats. A 30/40 HP engine. 2ND Dash with a glove box this time. Thats about it. Maybe a 4speed over the 3 speed.

luxury Same as mid range. But with better seats. Better looks, MAYBE some auto with a 2 speed. For super slow drive ( YUCK )

Sport. With the big 40 HP engine with a small supercharger. Lower springs. Better steering make it Almost fast. But very go kart like to drive/


As for eco models.


I will love to see a Diesel of some sort.
1 For normal UK japan Markets.
But a 2nd Engine ( Diesel ) For Indian and such markets. with a 10ish HP engine. Horrid.


And the much loved idea of a EV of some sort. I Think this will be awesome seeing we got new Evs,

Who not a shitty EV from when EV was Nothing to worry about .



Other then that. Each car brings in something new to the game.

I love the idea to make it maybe Both a land thing and a boat

 

Oh well, that's boring. I hope the widgeon will have something more interesting...

 

My 2 cents:
- Definitely not pigeon based
- I love the name, keeps the bird theme whilst also humorously rhyming
- I believe this will undoubtedly have an eclectic powertrain (Either standard or optional)
- The model looks fantastic

late = 550cc era with a nicer interior

Export (UK & AUS):
detuned pidgeon 600 engine
regular pidgeon engine
10-15hp electric (UK only)

 

US:
Gavril V8 swap

 

I love the Wigeon! I am a fan of weird cars, so I am very excited about it. It's clear that the Wigeon is inspired by the Bond Bug and the CitiCar, but it also reminds me a lot of the Aruanda and the Gurgel Itaipu, two concept cars built here in Brazil back in the 60s and the 70s. As for its powertrain, I don't know what to expect, but it would be great if it came with a low displacement engine (like the Aruanda) or an electric one (like the Gurgel Itaipu).

 

Guessing it might just be based on the Bond bug but modified for four wheels. Most likely it would use the same engine as the pigeon (especially the high powered variant) and drive train. this would mean this vehicle wouldn't take as long to make as a lot of vehicles (simple Jbeam and sharing components).


4 wheeled bond bugs do exist.
