Looks like a cheap "nerfed" one, doesn't even have any glass guards, idk what it could even be used for, too slow for pursuits and not made for transport

The current H-Series police truck is certainly underwhelming, even if technically realistic (though every emergency vehicle in game needs interior work).

NYPD has what I believe is an old Econoline ambulance converted to haul a bomb squad robot. This would be a reskinned ambulance with a different interior. Still a bit underwhelming but it would at least be quirky. There's some other similar options for reskinned ambulances for police duty that are similarly a bit boring, but IMO the quirky factor helps a bit over the regular cargo van. (A bomb squad truck would actually be a good second use for a modern USA fire truck).

I have discussed the possibility of CIT trucks in game here. It's certainly something I'd love to see. It would be a unique heavyweight in this size class and offer a lot of great story opportunities.

Another thing I've been thinking about is, what happened to the audio part of the water splash? In my opinion it seems like a long time for a simple sound effect, they might just be making it very detailed, but what if they are working on a larger sound improvement? It's far fetched, but might be possible.
I also think one of the devs mentioned something a while back about audio ray tracing or something but I may be confusing it with something else.

i'd imagine water splash sounds are quite complex, having different speeds, different amounts of inertia when you hit the water, different amounts of water being displaced, etc. that's a lot of samples to have to mix together and balance, and that's not including the sound of the water sloshing around as you exit.

tdk seems to just generally be running around all over the place adding and improving whatever he can stick a microphone in and get samples of, or what's feasible to mix with the current system.
from what he's said about it, the raytracing system seems to be in pretty early stages.

No, it's not a sticky for me. I am honestly kind of surprised it isn't a sticky, considering how popular it is.

Back to speculation, I wonder if we will ever get a proper fire truck, or at least more fire department based vehicles. A large custom fire truck would not have much use, so maybe a Unimog style vehicle could be coming the in the future, it would definitely allow for a wide variety of service and military vehicles to be added.

With part 2 of the H-Series remaster coming uptm I'm not so sure I agree with that statement. We know H-Series content is in the near future pipeline and are discussing the possibilities.

Yeah although when they update vehicles they normally focus on factory stock configs. Of course if a passenger body is added it will likely get tuned, drift, off road and or derby configs, and maybe a shuttle, school van or possibly even a conversion/camper van config. Being that as far as I know the devs have never added any official armored vehicle or armored config of a vehicle, I don’t think it’s likely that they will now, at least not immediately.

Not really. We have seen plenty of non-factory content in game, both originally and during the remasters. Without aftermarket configs the D/H-45 would have no reason to exist; the entire point of cabsters like that is for aftermarket commercial uplifts. Which is exactly what the most basic CIT trucks are. Personally I'd like to see something visually more interesting than an armored box, but at the end of the day all of these CIT trucks are just big and heavy commercial uplifts/bodies on a HD truck frame of some description. We've seen plenty of commercial vehicles and police trucks and even one military truck, and have one scenario involving a bank robbery, so it's not like a CIT truck really is going into new territory here. If we were discussing a full on APC I would agree with you (though the ram-plow T-Series is getting kinda close to a kill-dozer-esque home made AFV so even that envelope got pushed years ago), but a cash-in-transit truck is a fairly standard and common commercial application for IRL counterparts of both the H and D-Series. There's always going to be a first for whatever new vehicle type and it's only natural for the discussion to come up with the H-Series remaster on the horizon since so many IRL CIT trucks are based on Sprinter and Econoline vans.

I originally thought you meant just the regular van body, but with armor. I guess if they would make it an upfit for the H45 cabster then maybe a cutaway cab shuttle/ school bus may also be planned, since they would both be additional upfits for the H45 frame.

I've never worked with CIT trucks, but to my knowledge there's 3.5 options (2 of which also apply to the D-Series) which I discussed here. The simplest is just a thick steel box uplift. Extremely easy, applicable to the D45 and H45 and any future similar vehicles, but also really boring. Just a big box on the back of the cabster, it really is difficult to get more boring than that. There's also adding armored doors & windows plus appropriate interior modifications to the H35 body and potentially dropping it onto the DRW H45 frame (hence the "3.5" options). IMO still a bit boring depending on the particulars (sometimes these are visually nearly stock) but still not too difficult. a DRW van body with armored windshield and a push bar would certainly be a unique sight. The most interesting but also most involved is to replace everything from the firewall back with an armored box. Visually unique, interesting, and cool, but also much more involved than the other options. This option likewise applies to both the D35 and H35.

As for the bus... I'm sure we will be seeing a fair number of uplifts, since it's a big thing for commercial trucks and would require very little work to put onto the D45 after the asset is made. Considering how often a minibus is requested and the fact that it would double the number of vehicles we could use for bus routes, I'd be surprised to not see one. It would also be a great demo derby class as mini-buses are often used for those since they are cheap and plentiful.

With the bus and armored box possible, that also makes me think of an aftermarket work truck body for H and D-series, like this:

    or this:

or even something like this badass custom bus:

The first two could give Beamcom more types of vehicles than just the regular H-series and the last would be an awesome new type of vehicle in the game.
    The possibilities are endless.

Cargo box and 15+ passenger van aside, a news van might also be a reasonable investment. Viable scenario/roleplay vehicle, plus the folding dish or telescoping antenna has some low-clearance crash potential. The broadcast equipment might be a lot to model (especially if it needs to be accurate), but it's probably pretty doable.

I imagine a lot of the equipment can be done using creative texturing and modeling work. No need to model every piece of equipment.

On the topic of the H-Series, isn't it weird that we have 3 different off-road versions of it, while in real life you would never see a single extreme off-road van like that? And also, am I the only one who thinks the drift H-Series is the weirdest vanilla config in the entire game? Just look at it:
    asdas.png
    ssdas.png
My point is that the devs were likely running out of ideas for the configs to make in the remaster so they just added a third offroad version and this... thing. I hope it gets some actually reasonable configs in the next phase of remaster.

considering the film stunt driver career path will likely developed further, one other van configuration they could possibly make is a MIC rig, as was used in the early fast an furious films for moving interior shots.
