how are some supposed to have I4s but some have flat-4s how does the drivetrain packaging work? does it have an enormous transmission tunnel, like a rover 75?
The I4s are transversely mounted and the transmission tunnel is mostly covered by the center console in the front. The boxers are longitudally mounted.

why would a car maker go through the trouble of having 2 completely diffrent engine types and layouts ? thats like if the 350z had a 2.2 fwd option for the base model
