Beamng exe has a trojan?

Tried to run beamng but i saw this

 

Getting the same issue here, windows defender is throwing a fit. This was not an issue until this morning, yesterday the game worked fine with no problems.

 

Also i can't even run the game becuse game can't find the exe.

 

Same here, earlier today it still worked. Windows Defender does not want to let my PC run whatever it is!

 

BeamNG had changed instal destination with last update. Along that, there is feature that migrate files from old folder which was located in Documents to the new one which is located in user/appdata. My AVG had also noticed that the BeaNG app wants to change some files in Documents, but it also offered me choice that is an action of program which i know about and than it ignored it.

 

I am having the same issue as well. This time with Windows Defender. It tells there is a trojan in the steam/steamapps/downloading/ folder.

It seems like that the virus always get detected after trying to update the game.

 

Same for me, why does this happen?

 

We will only know when the developers take notice of it.

 

It's sad, i was going to play today and now i cant.

 

Well that's very bad. Let's just wait until the developers take notice. They should post something in the official content area of the forums. I think its safer.

 

I've been playing the new update for a while, and it hasn't given me a virus warning yet, but since people have started reporting this stuff, I think I'd better stay away from the game until the devs sort it.

People here are so naive lol. Do you seriously think that all that antivirus says is truth?

 

No, im not naive. Im just wondering why my antivirus says beamng is a trojan.

 

Quite a lot of people are having a serious problem with the new update, so I'm still not taking any chances.

 

I'm just confused as to how it became an issue all of a sudden. There were zero issues with this yesterday.

 

Pfft.. My antivirus always thought the beamng.drive is a virus. Every time i update the game it deletes the .exe. That is kinda usual for me

 

Even after a clean uninstall it still gets marked, not sure why its happening now. When I logged off for a few minutes while it was fine and came back and tried launching it then it started. Someone else is also saying they cant download mods via in-game repo.

 

I did some research on this because i was wondering about it and was confused as well. This is just the migrating file that migrates all of your data for you. It deletes itself upon completion and it has happened in other games before. This is a false positive and is not on any virus lists. Windows defender is just using its "smart" detection.

 

Is there a fix, or do we have to wait for the devs to fix it? other than disabling anti-virus?
