I think this mod should be removed off of the repo/forums if the FIXES AND UPDATES will not be released to all users.
this is why i unsubscribed from his patreon. How are you going to charge people monthly for content when you haven't released anything for months. can't wait for rdp to just include AI in the mod.
Alright. You want to remove the orange "No Texture" strip going across your derby fields? Here's how: 1. Start Fairgrounds and spawn your derby 2. Pause the game with "J" (default) 3. Hit F11 to enter the world editor 4. Click on "Decal Road Editor" 5. Select the orange "No Texture" strip 6. Hit delete 7. Go to "File: Exit Editor" 8. Hit "J" to resume the derby 9. Play the game 10. After the derby is over you will be prompted to save the map. Select "No" if you don't want to risk messing up the mod. Alternately, you can say yes and see what happens. Maybe the change will be permanent. I don't know. Or you can save the map in the editor before exiting. I haven't messed with that. If you do save anything under this guide and it messes things up you can probably just replace the mod you altered with the original file. Or, just don't save over anything. But in my testing 1-8 will get rid of the orange menace. --- Post updated --- This is by far the best mod for Beamng. It has some bugs now after Beamng updates but no mod has given me more replay-ability than this one.
Agreed - it's an amazing mod, pretty much the only one I consistently play. I hope the public release gets updated properly though, although I've been playing it so long with the issues I hardly even notice them any more.
Just if the “No Material” ground and the “No Mesh” cinderblock roadblocks were fixed, it would look like a completely up to date mod. Edit: Also sometimes when I load up the scenario, the boxes where you choose the arena, car type, etc. are empty. I have to completely restart the game to fix this. If I start the game with the empty boxes, the cars don’t load, but the countdown begins, as if it were a normal derby. And if it does load correctly, sometimes not all cars will load even if I choose how many cars.
For me, the derbies are completely broken. It's too bad, because this mod has so much potential. Hopefully the dev releases public fixes soon. I'm pretty sure this mod was abandoned, though.
Do what I said in my post above and you can remove the "No Material" ground. That "No Material" strip is a road. I didn't mess with the jersey barriers (cinderblock roadblocks) but there may be a solution for that too under the world editor. Unless you placed a bunch of them, it isn't really that distracting. For me, I just see "No" hanging above the couple that block off exits to the "grass" and "concrete" derby's which are what I mainly use.
Mine was completely broken too at one point. What fixed it for me was uninstalling Beamng and then, MOST IMPORTANT, manually removing all mods under the "mod" directory. These won't remove when uninstalling Beamng. Now reinstall Beamng and in game, check your repository downloads. If you did it right your repository downloads should be empty when viewed in game. If your old downloads are still there you didn't remove them and things will still be broken. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR MOD DIRECTORY IS EMPTY WHEN REINSTALLING BEAMNG. Now download and install "Fairgrounds" again. Don't install any other mods other than fairgrounds. Try running fairgrounds. If it is still broken I don't know what to tell you. If it works again, slowly install your old mods and test to see if any break fairgrounds.
it would be nice to have the most recent update HERE instead of PATREON because i cant do the race mode it crashes my game and the other problems that are fixed in the new update
Race mode loads for me, but only a fraction of the cars I pick load and they don’t drive. This mod update deserves to be released to the public. I agree 101% --- Post updated --- Ok forgot to tell u it Did work
Sorry monster to let you down. I have invested many hours in the next update and hope it will bring you back. With your support this will continue moving forward. --- Post updated --- As much as I would like to release it here. There is not much incentive to do so. For example the current update has months and hours of my time invested and would be thrown out the door if released here. I do plan to release small patches and fixes for this version but it will not include the new tracks/ maps/ menus/ and options created. It is a demo mode.
I have nothing against paying for mods and I respect the amount of work and effort but I find it ridiculous to have an extremely broken and outdated "demo mode" for free for way too long, and then only releasing "small patches and fixes for it" with absolutely no new content. Not even 1 new demo map? And paying still makes almost no difference because there have been months without any updates? Imo it should work differently, instead of huge updates that take longer to make than the game updates there should be more smaller ones, and the "demo version" should be top priority with all the necessary fixes, and it also has to get new content once in a while. Otherwise you might as well delete the demo version and only have the paid one because it has no purpose to exist in this state.
I love this mod. It's the thing I play the most on all of Beam, and all I want is for the no texture errors to be sorted, don't mind about missing out on new maps etc...just a basic fix for that and I'd be sorted.
could you at least fix the race mode so it works properly i dont mind about the maps all i want is the race mode to be fixed
I couldn't agree more. This mod used to be updated very often before the patreon was a thing. Ever since the patreon was made, the content and even very basic bug fixes have been extremely lacking, not to mention even the people PAYING MONTHLY for content are getting nothing for months on end. Pretty sad that even the "demo version" of this mod has been left in a broken state for almost a year now. Once people snatch your money, they immediately drop the ball.
Yeah, it's stopped working for me too. If the cars load, they load without AI. And if they don't, I just get a static spinning camera in first person with a lap counter.
