hello Beam support team i'm using a fanatec wheel base CSW2.5 and the handbrake is connected to the wheel base with pedals and i noticed it shares the same axes in hardware as the clutch there both named "slide" any way that i can make the handbrake work separately?

Are clutch and handbrake also sharing the same axis in other games?

Could you try disabling the Big Picture settings, as explained here?
Also make sure you're not using game-specific profiles or any similar functionality that your steering wheel drivers may provide.

hello stenyak happy to see your support I looked into steam picture and no settings where found selected for any controller. I uploaded a capture screen to show the devices in the settings

about the drivers fanatic drivers have no profiles that you can use its only for adjusting the wheels settings such as pedals and to make sure all your equipment connected to the wheel base are functioning .

Are you plugging the handbrake to the pedal set? If not, try that first.

im using the official fanatic adapter that came with the fanatic handbrake 1.5 the adapter combines the pedals and the handbrake so that you connect them the wheel base which is more convenient option than plugging the handbrake directly to the peddles as it helps with cable management of my sim rig bsids that all other sims work properly with this setup

this is an img from the fanatic handbrake manual on how I plugged my handbrake as shown in option one

    Please try the following:
    - Run BeamNG.drive while Steam is closed. That is, go to the BeamNG.drive installation path, then close Steam, then double click the BeamNG.drive.exe file.
    - Try each of the 5 options listed here, to see if any of them makes any difference: https://imgur.com/a/JUtZgiE

Hello I am having the same issue, was there any specific fix for this, I have my ebrake connected through my pedal and the ebrake shares the clutch axis like the OP, further I have tried running the game without Steam running and it has no effect

Hi. I bought the Fanatec handbrake specificly for BeamNG... And now I discover that in 2021 there is still this issue on handbrake sharing the same axis (slider) as clutch. This happens ONLY on beam ng: other games are fine (Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally 2, for example). Is there an open bug for this? I can help with any log you may need to fix the issue (I'm quite a tech guy, so ask whatever you may need)

can you take multiple screenshots of the different types of controls in settings? (general, vehicle, etc)
Im pretty knowledgeable on bugs regarding controls and stuff

As you can see from this link https://steamcommunity.com/app/2841...2632463/?tscn=1587990695#c2265817017328074009 the problem is known. There is no ETA (message is from 2020). The screenshot would just show that both Clutch and Handbrake are detected by Beam NG as "Slider". Same name, hence they collide. For now, I had to configure BeamNG to use automatic clutch, but this is not realistic. I would really appreciate if this problem will be put in the to-do-list.

Hey alberto! The problem is known and is in our to-do list without an ETA for when we'll be able to work on it.
For context, while it may look simple from the outside, it's far from a trivial change unfortunately, and the fix *might* invalidate everyone else's control configuration, which we prefer to avoid. It might be avoidable but again, there's no eta on when all this work will happen. The response in the thread you mentioned is still valid.

Hi Stenyak, good to know it's in the to do list. It was not clear, from the response fro 2020. I can imagine that it's not trivial, as I imagine it is caused by some code deep down in the main framework. I will wait for it. As for invalidate everyone else's configuration.. Who cares :) :) Jokes apart, maybe some sort of automatic upgrade when new version is istalled will do the trick... or just a message to please reconfigure this and that. Thank you for your efforts, love the game!

Maybe use deadzones to split the movement, configure the same axis for both the and use 50% deadzone to isolate the other axis, and do the opposit to the other axis? Since it is the clutch and handbrake.? I used to do this and it worked pretty well.. it's a bit confusing to get it working but it's pretty good once it does.. this games controls are veeeery customizable..
