Why would there be an anniversary edition to a car for the first car from Soliad Implemented into the game?

Soliad has to have been around before the production of the Wendover, plus it's the 80s and that's when special editions started coming out every year.

Honestly, your original comment about 16x16 maps inspired me to start making extremely rough concepts for what they could look like. This one is based on the area around and east of Albuquerque for stupid reasons (specifically: the area was highlighted in a motorcycle magazine I bought recently). But you know, if you're looking for an area to base a megamap on, you could do a lot worse. Just about everything is here, plus if you wanted to embellish a little bit, and too much desert sounded boring, you could probably squeeze a full-size racetrack in somewhere.

I wonder what'll happen to the ETK driving center, if it'll get revamped or cut from the game.

Most likely revamped as a lot of scenarios us it.

The Wendover would have most likely been a fullsize BOF competitor to the Bluebuck but more upmarket (Pontiac Bonneville). But it doesn't make sense to have two vehicles which are pretty much the same archetype. Especially as resources are better used to fill niches that need filling.

This is of course heavy speculation on game lore (and half based on non-cannon cancelled content), but I don't think that's how the late 1960's/early 1970's Bruckell/Soliad lineup looked. We know that Gabe planned the Albatross to be a BoF FR personal luxury coupe, which puts it in direct competition to the Bluebuck 2-Door Marshall. I like to think that the Wendover and Albatross wouldn't be similar enough to canabalize eachothers sales and therefore the gen 1 Wendover could have been more like the gen 1 Toronado with its FF layout. Or maybe it was and the Wendover and Albatross were closely related, it's not like Bruckell has any cannon at all really.

That's certainly the big thing I'm looking foward to with this update. Between the LeGran's drivetrain swap and the Soliad we hopefully will see Bruckell get lore for the first time ever.

It's a small detail, but from this line in the trailer video we know that the LeGran was the best-selling car in America at some point during its production run:
    grandmas.png
This is a pretty clear reference to the A-platform Chevrolet Celebrity, which was the best-selling car in America in 1986 (with the LeGran being based on other A-platform vehicles and Bruckell being at the same price level as Chevrolet).

Adding on to what @SuperAusten64 said, you can also find Bruckell flags on WCUSA at the dealership and drag strip.

This means lore-wise Bruckell as a brand probably still exists in 2021. In the future there could possibly be a modern Bruckell since it should exist today but it's still very unlikely right now.

Roane County is the biggest, at something like 21.9km x 21.9km IIRC it's been a while
Desert Highway is just a little smaller, but not by very much, maybe 2~8%?
American Road is the next smallest, though I'm still not entirely sure off-hand.
Then there's the likes of medium-sized maps such as Los Injurus (GTA V sized), Nevada Interstate, old Generic City (not sure it works anymore!). Crash-Hard's maps are around this size. Altitude map and Canyon of Speed fit in this category, as-does LIDAR Pike's Peak.
    I'm sure there's a few I've forgotten though.
Map size is most logically changed by setting the square size of the terrain you're working with. Sure, you will have a lot more space to work with, but for every bit you gain in size, you sacrifice detail since you can only have 4096 points across the entire map (if you were to cut it like a cake down the center). Well okay, you CAN use 8k (8192) but it's generally not condoned as it won't save compressed and will REALLY pad the map size unreasonably.
So, I hope some of this helped and didn't derail the precious 'wishin-and-a-hopin' thread.
If I were to have some wishes and hope-for's, it'd be these:
*DX12 or Vulkan renderer for getting rid of the pesky single-core rendering issues with the game engine, which always is drowning in too many draw calls on almost any map (MS Flight Sim 2020 does this, Fallout 4 downtown Boston / Corvega plant exterior also does this, it's due to one core being super-duper saturated with work while the other cores have long-since finished their quota of work).
*A way to draw super-low-fi terrain beyond the far clip plane to make 'the end of the earth' look better, this could work around about half the draw call problems, but won't help pilots any.
*Separate day/night skyboxes so that I can control building window illumination properly whenever the user adjusts the daytime settings or the engine sees fit to cycle day/night.
*Tiled terrain - this was originally on the road map in 2015~2016, but for some reason doesn't seem to be a goal in the developer's eyes. This would negate the detail resolution penalty/issues on large maps.
*Wished the game had the equivalent feature of a cherry-red 'red line' telephone that auto-called the devs whenever "yet-another-update-broke-something-important-here type things" happen.
That said, it's one heck of a game-engine even with said limitations, I am building Los Injurus with the vision and blind innocence only a kid could have had, if I been able to do so when I was underage in the 90's.
What other game lets you haul around (and virtually torture) a truck full of pianos whenever you need to blow off some steam after a tough day? I had never laughed so hard at a PC game until in late 2018 when we go the PIANO update (I think that was when), and I took a line of about 20 pianos and lined them up in downtown Rockwood in Roane County (which at the time I was building / populating ), and then obliterated them with a tractor + harvester from the farming mod. It was so priceless and I laughed to tears for so long that my gut hurt for a few days after.
@SuperAusten64 The CELEBRITY, gosh that was a HIDEOUS though nice riding vehicle. I absolutely, positively HATED those ugly cars even when I was a child and they were still in dealer's lots / showrooms until around 1990 or so. Heck, the Buick Century was sold until 1995~1996 if I remember correctly, and like the Olds Cutrate Cierra out-lasted the Celebrity.
They weren't BAD vehicles, just ugly. The 3100/3400/3800 push-rod engines were pretty bullet proof if a little prone to lifter tap, and most transmissions were pretty reliable in those cars easily providing 150,000~300,000 miles of use without a hiccup if cared for even the slightest. Those 80's GM front-drive vehicles of this body-style will never, ever, EVER even remotely hold a candlestick to the (pre-1985 model year full-size mostly-rear-drive) GM classics (Toronado and Eldorado were front-drive from 1968 onward, for what it's worth).

Makes me wonder, if that red paint on the wall will stay on the vehicle when the car crashes it. It would be like the crashing dummies with paint so you can see where their body parts hit the vehicle.

Would be cool, but I doubt it's very likely, especially since there are a lot more "more important" similar features (like paint scratches or dirt) that don't exist yet.

I assume that that that red paint staying on the vehicle would work pretty much exactly the same as dirt on cars would game engine-wise, so it seems unlikely to me that they'd make such a "small" (as in that would occur only on a few spots in one single map) feature with that red paint first, when they don't yet have the "big" (as in that it would occur on pretty much every map in every spot that isn't tarmac) feature of dirt accumulating on vehicles yet.

And since nothing has been said about dirt accumulating on vehicles for this next update, I doubt this red paint thing would be added either. However when/if dirt staying on a vehicle would be added, I think it would be pretty easy to make the same thing work with that red paint as well.

    No one talks Props here?

I wonder if we will get anything like a top crusher ( like the cube one but flat only ) and so on.

Speaking of props, I've noticed that most dev-made props are generally much lower quality than cars. While most of them have proper Jbeam (some have messed up breakgroups, and others like the tire stack are just bad) and decent-good textures, the 3D models seem low effort, some are literally flat with a texture that tries to make them look normal but fails, like check the gate prop, also most are low-poly. Also, most don't have the mod slot, and the "skinnable" ones use the extremely outdated old decal-based skin system, or other weird ways to make skins. Even the newst prop, the shipping container, suffers from this issue. The thumbnails for a lot of them are outdated too and some don't even have config thumbnails at all. I get that they are not the main focus of the game, I just wanted to share this thing I noticed, I always thought the props are as high quality as the cars but apparently they are far from that.

Props have to be low poly so you can spawn a lot of them. Also most of the props in the game are very old and have never been updated.

Whats the source of that gridmap teaser? I like it, looks great to torture test vehicles.

I don't see why the Legran AWD wagon isn't likely. The lifted/rally suspension already exists, it fits in with the GM A body canon, and the teaser has been around months.

I'm excited to see what the wendover's electronic dash looks like. Fun fact: GM designed a completely different digital dash for every single chassis that offered it, even down to the J bodies (Cimarron) and S-10/Astro.

Yes, I think you're right, but the red paint could be there just to test out the feature in a larger scale.
