Idea: For the lore friendly version, how about a rebrand config that would be sold in Japan or Russia? Maybe it could swapped with an i4 or something like that.

I completed the first layer of the underbody. Lots of lots of work, took me a few weeks but it's done. Still needs the frame part, and all the suspec
russia I'd believe but I think this is a rather large car to be in japan, but then again, the japanese police once had mustangs

It would be cool if you do decide to do an exported rebrand. We would just need a name.

Yes, that's how they were built.

This is a Mopar reference for body parts. It's for the E-body but the same components exist for all the body lines. Note that the 'subframes' include half the underside.
To install new ones, you have to cut metal unlike full-frame or subframe cars where you can drop the entire chassis by removing bolts and welding points.

Check the catalogs for dimensions: the track, width and wheelbase measurements should be near identical to the 68-70 Charger's. If you can't find the right Monaco pictures, check early 70s 4-door Coronets/Satellites. They're pretty much the same car.

At any rate the engine bay dimensions should be very close since they were designed for the same engines and suspensions, X-frame included during the same era. For the connections to the exterior, go from the shape of the outside panels.

Gave it some generic classic police rims, will add more detail later if I can, but they really are bare looking and I had a hard time finding reference. Does look pretty cool though, right?

Ahh the Statesman with a rotary in it, i really wonder how much coke those executives were on to think that was a good idea...

Um this might just be me but does the lower part of that boot seem too... Booty ? Like it extends just a little bit to far downwards

Our cars were small to Americans, but definitely not japanese sized. It was of course an absolutely stupid idea, who would think that putting a torque-less rotary in a 1700kg car for the japanese market was good idea. Christ a fully tricked LS1 would use less fuel in a week than that would use in a day, not to mention dangerously slow acceleration (a car that cannot move its own weight quickly is NOT a safe car), a miserable 3 cog box also adds to the insult. Why on earth would you think it was a good idea ?

    ok.

the car looks nice while the engine sounds even better.

I understand where you are coming from. Aussies and americans have very similar preferences on cars. We like big power and torque, and that car was lacking both.

While i do agree the car looks nice, sorry but i couldn't say i like the sounds of rotaries, to me its like vacuum cleaner that needs to be emptied, but some people adore them i can certainly see why (the fastest i've ever been in a car was an awesome 13B RX-3) its only that they needed to have the right car to utilize them properly

absolutely, in fact I'd encourage it. Right now I'm just trying to get the modeling done but like I said if anyone wants to collaborate on the jbeam process and that stuff feel free.

Put the rear bumper on, and added detail to the rims. Not much but it's looking better.
