Yes yes and yes! I hope the devs are taking note XD (in all seriousness, please make it pop ups and have a Buick Reatta rear glass devs, it would make it awesome!)
I don't know ... I can't see teasers ramping up before the dev team has delivered the devblog post(s?) they're currently working on to describe some of the new features they introduced in the last round of updates.
Jokes aside, that's quite suspicious. Maybe just a leftover from the GM refresh? Let me check SteamDB for changed files. It appears to be from the refresh.
That line is in quite a few other glass jbeams like the pessima, etk 800, legran etc I think it's just there from copying glass jbeams when making them to let the devs know what weight they should aim for so I doubt it means anything sadly
That explains some stuff, and also it could be useful to modders in this case, because without it how would you know how much should glass realistically weight
So, while I was bored yesterday & today, I found out that BeamNG has a translation help site where you can translate the game to a language you know. Since yesterday, while going through all the things that need to be translated, I found some text strings that point to things which haven't been really teased yet & the devs usually said that they won't implement it (which is typical talk for "we'll do it later"): Strings added ~3 weeks ago
Sriously this is good news, it means that, some day (or in a couple years) we will eventually have a real career mode.
I would absolutely love this. Its a relatively small thing, well, just a walking camera is at least. But is always fun imo because you can look at a car in a realistic scale. The "getting out of your car" part is interesting. I wonder if its going to be more of a camera gimmick or if they have bigger plans for it. Defiantly hoping for this one.
I've been really hoping for this since the start! In the meantime I just use the freecam and try to stay at a normal human height. Do you have the link to the translation site?
I suspected it ever since we had the Jungle Rock Island tiser with the silhouette of a person ... This means that we will definitely have a character and maybe, given the clothing and food ads, we can eat and choose clothing. But that's just my speculation ...
that on its own doesn't really mean much, ads are just there to make the world feel more inhabited and a human is often used as a scale reference for concept art. the JRI remaster teaser/concept art scale reference person.
Adding to what FalloutNode said, a walking mode doesn't require a visual character, and while customizing a character is not unheard of in driving games, I can't see any way in which eating could be a worthwhile mechanic in BeamNG.
walking into parts stores would be pretty sweet and kinda make sense if the devs are going for an slrr/ets/forza hybrid type deal
