I like how an 1300hp crawler is basically a budget monster truck, like you can do flips and stuff.

I looked a bit and while I found pictures of similar bumpstop setups, mostly on rigs that would be comparable to the "offroad" variants of the D-Series and Roamer, but I haven't found any videos.

This sort of setup seems to be pretty much standard for Trophy Trucks and IFS U4 buggies, with the bump stop hitting a plate on or near the steering axis on the upper A-Arm, which means that they are much closer to a 1:1 motion ratio.

As for videos, I haven't found anything with good slow-mo, but this video does show both the front and rear in action, along with a good view of the bump stops. You can also see that the front also doesn't hit the bump stops nearly as often as the rear.

For the damping I have no idea, and I doubt you could get any true numbers outside of asking a manufacturer. But I suspect it can go decently high since, as I understand, they're just nitrogen shocks with an air chamber that's smaller and pumped up to high pressures, allowing it to act as a spring.

I've also found this interesting website : https://www.drivingline.com/articles/suspension-theory-with-king-shocks/
I personally don't fully understand what the "volumeCoef" variable represent on pressured beams, but this spec might be interesting to test if that's not how yours work already.

I’ve reached out to Brenthel regarding their “catch all” setup on their production trophy truck. They are still seeing if they can share details of their King Shock setup. They did share that a trophy truck tire is usually 32-38psi and never lower. We’ll see if they can share numbers.

I wish there was an option to have the crawler solid axel instead of only the prerunner solid axel.

loving it so far but wondering if the rear wide fenders could be trimmed or strengthened so the 42* tires don't get stuck and wreck everything with only being softly hit, and if the new tires on the prerunner version could also get a 42* size to try out would be awesome.

you can easily change that in the part selector.

I thought about this a short bit back, but I think there should be some reverse light option in order to let people know that you have to back up when on a trail. Also, light cages for the light rack and LED lightbar when, and integrated lightbar within a bumper pls if we do get LED lightbar?

How about a rear mount radiator?

cool but unnecessary. I haven't had any issues with the radiator so far.

imo its more realistic, also its a way to make this thing more of a tank.

How could this turn into a tank with just a rear radiator if any minor fender bend gets inside the suspension and makes the whole vehicle completely undrivable anyway? (I mean this kind of behavior is realistic but it doesn't happen on any other vehicles for some reason, it would be cool if it either didn't happen at all or was a thing in all other vehicles too)
It was never meant to be a near-indestructible vehicle, it was meant to be a modular prerunner thing

Radiator damage will be harder, tank is just a bonus. It makes it harder to destroy the radiator when hitting rocks, or flipping, as the radiator is deep in the tube chassis.

It seems that the rear suspension goes through its travel too quickly, causing the rear axle to hit the bump stops and thrusting the rear end into the air.

that's just a simple tuning issue if you make the rear stiffer with a little more dampening it will move slower and hit bump stops much less

Today's Wreckfest update has had me thinking... Would it be possible to see a racing discipline in game inspired by Stadium Super Trucks? AFAIK those things are all proper full on tube frame builds so an exact replica of any of the IRL classes isn't possible from just modifying the pre-runner, but it seems to me that with a few new parts we could get something in game that at least gets close to that experience. It would certainly be a cool off road genre to see and allow the team to re-imagine existing track layouts.

They are different. Super stadium trucks have less suspension, are usually weaker, smaller, lighter, etc. Completely different focus. You could try though.

As I said, I'm well aware that the current truck is out of spec for IRL super stadium trucks, but it seems that the basic premise of the discipline should be transmittable to something that can be made out of the D-Series crawler. The basic idea of take a powerful off roader that roughly resembles a pre-runner and throwing it around a circuit with ramps should work well in Beam.

And no, I'm not going to teach myself how to make a mod to get the thing closer to spec. I barely have time to even play the game nowadays, let alone teach myself how to mod it.

Aye, sorry I missed this thread, but to catch you all up on some info! :D
The purpose of this truck was to have something between a regular truck and a trophy truck. So I wanted it to seem somewhat homebuilt. Moving the radiator is kidna tough in RL. Most pre runners just leave them where they are. But if I ever do a crazier truck, I will definitely move the radiator.
this would be super fun! :D good idea
Yeah they are very different, but I think it would still be fun! You pretty much just need a vehicle to take multiple jumps and it will work! :D. It would be fun to eventually make a stadium truck.
