I really think people need to understand this game isn't specifically made for them, younger people are allowed to enjoy it too - and not everyone understands forums, if anyone has read this and is guilty of repeating 'buuUuUuuuuump' to children just trying to understand the rules as best as possible, have a look at yourself and grow up.
Another forum mishap was the vansandpans incident where a literal 8 year old had a hissy fit on the forums because on mod wasn't working and the author of the mod committed suicide.
I read the archived pages of the incident and...wow. The utter audacity of that person is astronomical. That is a perfectly valid point, the TOS does say such, though someone under 16 being on here wouldn't necessarily justify bullying; not saying you were implying that, just throwing a point out here. However, there could be certain situations where severe action would be in order, like the situation IDontKnow mentioned earlier.
Edit: I found the link, here's how not to act on the BeamNG forums and why the 16 and up age limit is in place: http://web.archive.org/web/20171203143245/https://beamng.com/threads/89-pessima-wagon.40249/page-2
Site staff: We've worked hard all year, and now we're going on vacation for a week! Be good now! Chinese fake-diploma scammers: bonjour --- Post updated --- Wow, people still remember vansandpans? That's unfortunate.
hmm yeah fair enough, they shouldn't be here but being unfairly bullied for very *minor* things (ie. posting something meaningless on a 6 month old thread) is silly. This is a real shame too, I remember it quite well and was genuinely slightly disturbed. It's an awful, awful thing I wouldn't wish upon anyone - but surely it wasn't entirely this one individual person's fault? Yes, they tipped the iceberg and caused it to happen, but surely there's a variety of other things that may have caused it. I might be wrong though and in the case I am, I am truly sorry, the age limit is there for a reason, but we just have to (unfortunately) accept the fact children are everywhere. - actually quick edit, to reduce issues like this, we allow thread creators to delete unnecessary posts, or at the very least some sort of 'vote delete' button where members can click vote and if it gets, say 5 votes it's deleted.
I remember Narwhal participating in beamng discord or IRC servers years ago, god rest his soul. He hated life and had suicidal tendencies/ideation for a while. He talked about speeding in his car(subaru outback?) and driving recklessly, hoping he'd crash and die. Maybe we could have helped him. RIP. I don't know the details of vansandpans posts, but you cannot blame him for Narhwal's death.
vansandpans's freakout happened afterwards anyway. A really obnoxious poster either way. I'm still not convinced he wasn't just a troll.
Remember the Funny award? I wish I could give you one for that post. --- Post updated --- I just remembered another thing that happened, some kid made a car mod but it was just a KB sized file. His thread had like 50 pages and the kid would keep pretending to work on car mods but wouldn't be able to actually deliver their promises. He would constantly change the title of the thread, and I am surprised that the thread lasted that long before getting deleted.
I do remember it. Good times. I don't know if I was around here the time that Narwhal committed suicide, but, fuck, even if vansandpans' freakout was afterwards, that was just fucking obnoxious.
The vansandpans incident happened after Narwhal committed suicide on May 17th, 2017. I have no clue if it is either a troll or if it was actually an 8 year old, but I think it is an annoying kid and not a troll, what adult troll calls people "POOPOO?"
I found out yesterday that there's apparently a live action Initial D movie on Netflix. To anyone who has seen it, is it good? And if not, would I be better off watching the actual anime? I'd go watch the movie now, it's not like it isn't available, but I wanna know what I'm getting into, because live action remakes aren't always good as remakes or individual films. Also if I were to watch the anime, where exactly is it available (if it is available at all in the US).
May I recommend a game I`ve been playing recently? https://graebor.itch.io/sort-the-court That`s how I`m spending my Saturday
