The car under steers like a boat (and I drive a lot of AWD in a lot of other games) and the FFB is absolutely awful. It's too heavy with a big slop in the middle and then frequently decides to just let loose and loosens up randomly.

I'm afraid you are right about the Sunburst being 'a little' off. I just tested this and the RS seems to be all over the place. Of course I tested with all driving and safety assists removed. Adding race tires helps, but if the Sunburst should represent an Impreza or a Lancer then the car should be far more better on the road. There's not much to compare with, except for the old Pessima GTz. So I did that comparison and I can agree that something's not right with the Sunburst. As for FFB I cannot share an opinion, I stopped using force feedback for a longer time now, I'm using a 900° sprung wheel , Clubsport pedals (with load cell) and TH8A (if that's the correct naming) shifter.

L O L , no I don't like it, I just teared down my perfectly preserved Fanatac 911TurboS wheel for fun and learning. I have a personal opinion with ffb, I agree it helps many, as it once helped me too (I had 2 decent ones), but it doesn't serves me anymore :)-

But driving only by sight is way less accurate than with ffb?

Controller players like myself don't have ffb. It's not necessary to drive a car in this game.

I always hate to have this discussion. Let me tell you one thing : in the world of aircraft there is this 'term' called VFR, ever heard of that ?

p.s. we are sliding off topic :)

The sunburst Sport RS is one of the best-feeling cars in the game IMO, it just takes corners so well and is so controllable. I get best results with ESC in the normal "green" mode, surprisingly.

Or Sunburst FFB just bad or overall Sunburst is bad. It's my opinion. Very stiff and very unpleasant to drive car.

Ok I accept your opinion, IDC what you do with your life... You make nice mods tho:). I don't really like the sunburst either but I couldn't put my finger on why exactly

    Thanks, here's my controls btw:

    on topic :

I'm not too sure about that, it flies off the road pretty easily.

I realized I never have driven the Sunburst with my new G29 so I just tried it out.

I took the bog standard Sunburst RS DCT with power steering fitted. Turned all assists off and did some curb hopping in downtown WCUSA and did 5 laps of the WCUSA track.

Only once on the streets did I lose the rear end which was my fault, I let off the gas on a mid turn crest.

I actually find it to be quite fun. You can steer it with the throttle really well on low speed turns. It's a hair tail happy sometimes but, nothing a little throttle can't straighten out. Being smooth with the inputs really helps.

'Thoroughbred rally cars' shouldn't be treated as walking on eggshells and a DCT also makes up a lot for bad stability, using the clutch is far less forgiving.

I don't find the manual TOO much different. I have the H-Shifter for the wheel as well.

The rear suspension in the RS is very aggressive for a street car, if you let off the throttle mid turn, it will come around on you.

I think the Vivace S models are just as difficult to drive. They seem twitchier to me than the Sunburst.

The Sunburst RS is very tail-happy without assists, but I think that's fine.

Well iirc the Sunburst RS is similar to IRL vehicles Mitsubishi EVO X and Subaru STI. The "base model" Sunburst is like Lancer (FWD), but the "base model" Subaru, i.e Impreza, is AWD. Interestingly, the Impreza and the WRX are AWD with a default 60:40 torque distrubution, but the center transfercase is not a differential, more like a computer-controlled splitshaft but tuned to always partially engage i.e full-time, and both the front and the rear are open diffs. The EVO X has an active center differential with a default 50:50 torque distribution and the rear diff is torque vectoring and the STI has torquevectoring center diff that's adjustable around 40:60 and a torsen rear diff. In the Sunburst RS the center diff is 60:40 viscous LSD and viscous front diff clutch rear diff, which is a weird hybrid of the above IRL vehicles. And both the EVO and the STI has a big rear wing, which provides downforce for high-speed cornering, and in both of the "base model" the wing is absent. More FWD-ish and more rear downforce means more understeery, and has to tune the suspension to compensate it.

The Sunbursts are built and tuned like the similar ways, The base model is FWD w/o a wing and both sway bars are non-sport and has a underpowered engine. The Sport RS has a powerful engine, 60:40 torque distribution, a wing with two layers and Sport RS sway bars. note the 2.0 Sport and the Sport AWD, they have the same wing but the 2.0 Sport has a Sport rear sway bar and a non-sport front sway bar, so the 2.0 sport is more oversteery than the AWD sport in terms of suspension.
    In conclusion
    Torque Distribution FWD << 1.8=2.0<2.0AWD<2.0AWDRS >> AWD
    Sway Bars Oversteery << 2.0AWDRS=2.0<2.0AWD=1.8 >> Understeery
    Downforce Distribution Front << 1.8<2.0=2.0AWD<2.0AWDRS >> Rear

In terms of Sunburst RS, during corner entry the suspension oversteer is compensated by the massive rear wing, as the speed goes down the less the downforce the more oversteery the car is, which is exactly needed near apex, and during corner exit the suspension oversteer is compensated by the front-biased torque distribution.

IMO the SBR4 TTS2 is the most difficult to drive, it often randomly understeer or oversteer, which is very unpredictable, the lack of downforce(the wing is much less effective than those in Sunburst RS) makes is quite oversteery at high speeds w/o throttle, and w/ throttle the vehicle will understeer first, then oversteer suddenly as the Active Diff begins to torquevectoring, if you reduce throttle because of oversteer(the recovery method on most RWD and rear-biased torque distribution vehicles does not applies to SBR4 TTS2) it will continue to oversteer because of the unpredictability of the vehicle, if you set comfort ESC the vehicle will always understeer with throttle, which is kind of boring.

A controller is fundamentally different. A big example is the fact that it returns to center. A wheel with no FFB will just stay wherever you leave it. You can apply a "centering force" that just pulls back to the middle, but it's kind of terrible and has no relation to where the wheels want to go. It feels very unnatural.
In other games with better FFB/tire models it helps with drifting as the wheel spins on it's own to catch slides.
Not even close to the same, and depending on the aircraft there is actually still "FFB" from the wind on the control surfaces.
That's another thing. A lot of the models seem to just not have power steering for whatever reason so it feels ridiculously heavy.
I took it around Laguna Seca and it wasn't tail happy at all. It just had gobs of understeer. It very well could be just a terrible setup. I don't think I turned the assists off though, I could try that. Maybe by default they need to be seriously lessened.
I'm not 100% is the RS AWD? the AWD one was terrible, but the bad FFB I'm pretty sure was also present on the base FWD model.
