I also noticed the improved FFB right away. In addition with the response correction curve, you get much more accurate and faster response now.

For example when turning the steering wheel at high speeds and immediately taking the hands off of it: The car will straighten itself, whereas before, it would just skid and crash immediately due to incorrect counter steering response.

Best part of the update right here! Massive thank you to whichever dev added this road that I've been requesting! My favorite config of the racetrack no longer requires an awkward unintentional hairpin

also on the devblog it says WCA improvements, not remaster which could just be me overthinking it, but it leaves speculation to a larger WCA update/remaster.

just hang around steam and it should do it. Just read the update page on steam, and that should give enough time for it to work.

On the controls list for the d series one is extend and retract feet, as far as I know, no d series config has feet, this could mean something like a crane config.

So time to compare the speculation to the actual update I guess, along with my first impressions. I'll do my best to stick to that and not further possible content additions, as much as I enjoy talking about that.

1990's Gavril Lineup:Interior: So the interior updates were as expected, but we did see a facelift bench seat after all. We do have a lot of configs that don't have headrests but legally need to, though that's a detail that only me and like 5 other people seem to care about

Trim Levels/D-45: I haven't updated my model year spreadsheet yet, but it looks like the model years are:
    D-Series Pre-Facelift: 1986-1991
    D-Series Mid-Facelift + Custom Classic: 1992-1997
    D-Series Late Facelift: 1998-2003
It seems that the model years are now that simple, whereas they use to be all over the place for different versions
    H-Series: 1993-2003
    Roamer Pre-facelift: 1992-1998
Roamer late facelift (base model): 1999(2000)-2005

This means that the D-Series got the Roamer's interior and the very similar facelift rear bumper one model year before the Roamer got it's refresh. I guess this is fair enough. Speaking of the facelift... I was expecting to like the front end and be a bit iffy on the rear end. I still don't really care for the chisled shoulder line on the bed for the facelift, but dang is the facelift front end pretty in black or chrome with either headlight. I really love the new hood especially. I originally thought the third facelift was more of a bonus than a necessary addition, but it really makes the line feel more complete and goes great with the Roamer.

The D-45 was exactly as expected. In the teasers they all had the pre-facelift wing mirrors, as well as the fleet late-facelift D35. Currently the Marauder, all D45's have them, but D35 fleet late-facelift has period appropriate mirrors. The military version should have the utilitarian mirrors. Not sure how I feel about them on the D45 facelift though... Extended late HD mirrors would make a lot more sense, even if the extended HD early mirrors get the job done.

The D-Series now has ESC and rear drum brakes, which is nice. The street-legal flatbed with side options turned out to be a replacement for the Pig's garage made not-street-legal option. I am very excited to see a muscle truck config for the pre-facelift and a body kit for the RS, which seems to have returned to the original "Sport" AWD config to better match the Roamer RS. We finally have a big block, even if it is sub-7.0L and we didn't see the Barstow/Bluebuck's engines... For those who want to complain that the big block is in the GM, remember that the '92 Impala SS concept actually had an 8.2L, so the big block GM makes a great "what if" car. Though you'll have to make it yourself since it didn't actually make it into any configs other than the drift missile.

No sign of that bed liner that snuck it's way into 0.20.

No major H-Series content, those mystery disappearing door hinges are just the standard hinges now.

Prerunner: Again this was exactly as expected and nothing more. I am a bit surprised they didn't manage to sneak in a Charro version since it sounds like this was delayed an update for the interior changes and therefore would have had time. Not a big deal, just a bit surprising. I do find it really weird that we only have the mid-facelift for the dove front end though.

WCUSA: We got a lot more here than initially expected, including that slip road I've been asking for. The monorail's tunnel still dead ends and the tracks are still inaccessible, but we have a nice tunnel system for the highway, under the city, and a bonus drainage tunnel.

JRI: I'm really surprised this made it in since we never got a proper teaser for it.
Triple Screen: There is an option for triple monitor render in game now, though I don't see any mention of it in the devblog
Mystery Handling Improvements/ESC and such: We got aero improvements, ground-contact physics improvements, G29 FFB improvements, ESC for the ETK's and SBR
    Bolide/LeGran/Covet/Hopper/etc..:
    • Well there's no sign of the Bolide changes we saw in the 0.20 dev blog videos, which is weird.
    • LeGran changes were just to the technical bits and not content.
    • Covet GTz turned out to be an N/A engine with no VTec or fancy twin-charging, which I find really surprising. Especially since that hood bulge and classic graphics screams" turbo". The drag version of this thing is insane, and we got some really cool new parts for it
    • The 200BX drag car, while not insane, is very well composed while still being rather quick.
    • Still no sign of the Beam Safari hopper, though I have to say the Park Ranger looks great. The Sunburst also has a police interceptor now. We did get those 3 new skins from CarKiller's imgur dump.
Development Limbo and confirmed not to be in this update: Exactly as expected

As for some more general notes:

I really love the new wheels, especially the Alder set. Speaking of wheels, all of the "crawler" tires now have dirt textures whereas the 38/42 use to have a clean texture. The new "Screamer" tires are clean though.

New trailer configs are great to see, especially the "dangerous"

I really am critical of how they handled the UI for the Gavril trucks. Colors are a really important tool for organizing, especially when the UI was so messy. Now that the D/H-Series selectors look like skittles bags it's rather difficult to tell what is what. I think color coordinated config spam would have been a far better choice than the changes they went with

Also, I updated my model year spreadsheet. Not going to bother re-posting it all since we only got model year changes to the D/H-Series/Charro/Roamer, but here's a highlight. It's really nice how streamlined the D-Series model years are now, they were a mess before.

Most fast cars are A LOT easier to control. But it feels different so you have to get used to it.

And standard tires behave a lot more realistic on dirt and other non-asphalt terrain.
