I have the same problem Specs: Windows 8 x64 I7 2600k @ 4.5ghz R9-290x @ 1100Mhz 8GB DDR3 9-9-9-24 1600Mhz Gotta be a bug. Great looking map though, thanks.
Yea, I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope not -_- EDIT: I found this in the link provided by OP regarding the tire stacks "-Pikes Peak currently has a bug that is impossible to fix for us. When skid-marks are on, as soon as you skid, your FPS will go down a lot. There is a fix for this: Note: This is a very easy and quick fix, but IF you save, you will NOT see skidmarks in BeamNG again UNTIL you put the value back, in the same way. If you do not save, you will have to do this quick-fix every single time you load this particular map. 1: Press F11 2: Find this "Decals Editor" button in the top left: 3: Press tireTrackDecal 4: Put "Size" to 0: "
The low FPS is caused by the mesh. I played around with different sizes of the "ground"-mesh...with the result that all meshes above 2000 polys cause this lags. I split the mesh into 2x1000 polys...and everything worked fine. Also collision-meshes could help to solve that problem. Edit: The better way to fix the problem, is to set "decalType" to "None" and save the level. This disables the skid marks ONLY for that TSStatic object, and doesn't affect other maps.
So for a year or so, this map loads up like this. Another BeamNG'er reported this map works just fine in 0.110.4... But the ONLY 2 maps that ever had a problem loading like this were Colonial Road and Lienz.... same user I just mentioned said BOTH of these maps work on his end. I've cleared cache, and everything else possible. What I notice is that it seems to skip over part of the loading process because "spawning player" shows up very soon, as if it's missing part of the loading process. Please, anyone with more knowledge about this, let me know what you think.
Dude, if this works... I really never thought I'd see the day. I've tried searching, and couldn't find out how to add the sun. I have the level editor open, but no luck trying to look in the folders under "scene" and "library", not really sure where else to look or how to add it. Care to explain? Edit: I found it. I go to add it, but don't know what to name it under "object name". Double edit: I added it with no name and case closed. Thank you SO MUCH for replying.
This is awesome dude! I spent countless hours on this map in rFactor back in the day. Now we just need a Kodi Rayzor for true nostalgia!!!
