It was never stated that it was impossible.
Airbags are simply useless for the vanilla games since there will not be a person in the car. So it would just be a waste of time to work on it.

Nice concept nevertheles!

Maybe making use of deformGroups could help with increasing the reaction time?

 

If you think it that way also many other things become useless. Where you need seats if there is nobody sitting in the car, where you need ambulance if there is no people in the game.. etc?

 

If we use this mindset, eventually we will get to "why does the universe even exist?"

 

added passenger airbag for more realism and got it working somewhat
kind of jiggly but tweaking beam values should fix it

features:
- no game crashing explosions (anymore)
- super low effort beveled square as mesh
- bare minimum textures taken from my refrigerator mod

in my opinion i think they're big enough
as long as its a bit bigger than the dummys head it would be good

why is the drivers airbag rotating but the passenger stays in the same place?

i think because the steering wheel is rotating? IDK, I think thats what happens IRL in an overlap crash since it's crushing the wheel
