    (sorry for my bad english)

FPS drops when I enter the bushes on Industrial Site and Small Island (haven't tried it on other maps)

    What did I do:
    Clean Installation
    Reinstall Windows
    With and without overclocking
Install Beamng on HDD and SSD

    PC specs:
    CPU - AMD FX8320E 4.2GHz
    RAM - 16GB 2100 MHz
    GPU - GTX 1660

Safe mode, other cars, same problem

The FPS likely dropped because the bushes cause many lighting and animation calculations that your computer might not be able to handle very well.

Exactly the same drops in the same places for me. Ryzen 3600, GeForce GTX 960.

This issue seems to be related to hardware, try seeing if you have any unnecessary programs on your storage drive, also maybe install more RAM.

I think your CPU haven't enough power (may be some kind of throttling or slow memory?). And don't match to GPU. Look at my video: the FPS lower than yours (due to less powered GPU) but pretty stable.

What the memory do you have? (amount and frequency)

Also check your SunSky folder for the texture settings for sunlight and shadows. If it’s set to 1024, step it down to 512. Or turn shadows off, or lower brightness or the ambient light blend to low gray scale with 0 alpha value. All this has helped me. I’ll take blurry shadow edges over low FPS.

Also take a dive underground in free cam and have a look around. Clear the fog and extend the draw distance. Sometimes random remnants of objects— the map author forgot to erase— could be down there. (Random orange ribbons of roadway, 300 meters underground, come to mind).

None of the above helped, I think more that this is a problem of optimizing the map itself. Old maps don't have such a problem with bushes. Yes, I have a pretty old processor, but I don't think it's that weak, especially overclocked (0 errors in stress tests).

    16+16 GiB DDR4-2400 at 2400 MHz (according to X-AMP)

The CPU is a six-core Ryzen 5 3600; temperature is okay.

The GPU is old (GeForce GTX 960), therefore I first suspected overdraw in the bushes being the cause. But it does occur far away from bushes at times (pretty much like in the video). And there are no problems with other maps (e.g. Italy) whatsoever.

Gonna test the other suggestions later.

Edit: I’m pretty sure it’s a logic issue:
    1. stable 25–33 fps throughout the map
    2. drive to one of those spots – fps drops to 17
      • waitforGpu drops from 22 to 0.1
      • number draw calls and number of billboards stays the same
    3. hit J to pause the game – fps instantly goes up to 33 again (or higher if I just look at the sky)
    4. hit J again to unpause – fps instantly drops back to 17 (even if I just look at the sky)
    5. wait for a few seconds unpaused and the fps goes up to 33 again
    6. wait some more and the fps drop again
This does not seem like a graphics issue at all. More like garbage collection kicking in or logic tasks stacking up in cycles of work-idle-work-idle-work-idle.

It does seem associated with specific places which often happen to have bushes. Very weird.

At this point I’d call bug …

It's all very interesting but I have R5 1600 and GTX 1050ti, 16 GB RAM (3400) and my video upper.

For example, bushes on another map(Utah, USA), everything is fine, no fps drops.
