Here's the rarely posted 1993 Mazda Miata that I own, I was feeling like taking photos tonight, and the Miata hasn't been the number one choice to photograph this week, so I went out for a cruise on back roads and found some beautiful places to take photographs.
Went to the junkyard today. I've been going crazy trying to find a matching black back seat and door panels for my crown vic for 6 months so I finally caved and got a nice clean gray leather seat and door panels from an 04 Grand Marquis. Absolute score for $70. I'm happy with it. It adds luxury. This thing is mostly ready to sell. I had a new windshield installed last week and I'm almost done with some paint work on the hood and trunk. Throwback to what it looked like when I bought it:
I replaced the starter in my grandfather's garbage $100 Cherokee limited. This is the third time. I've replaced the alternator already. --- Post updated --- but hey I get to drive it. The headliner is gone, the inside is overwhelming with cigar smell, but it has am/fm casette! 10/10 just for that
Making progress on the '62 C10. I've got tires that hold air now, repainted the wheels, been working on brakes, and hopefully soon it will be running.
What I'd give for that. Put some oil around the edges of the holes where the spark plugs go. It'll do wonders, trust me --- Post updated --- That was a joke, don't do that lol
Sorta, fuel system is slowly disintegrating all of its original hoses and fittings. But that's what you get for letting it sit for 5 years with crappy 10% ethanol fuel in a 34 year old fuel system stuff like this 6mm reducer T piece that goes upto 8mm ovals out and just melts, leaving you (and the distributor!) covered in fuel
Washed her first time in a long time after sitting in a garage and driving in rain. Also vaccuumed the interior and cleaned up the trash
Got tired of the rear brake squeaking. On both sides the inner pads were pretty stuck and rather rusty. Left side outer pad oddly seemed pretty new. Left side slide pins were pretty new but right side ones were rusty and the upper one was stuck. Maybe an hour and a half of elbow grease and brake noise is gone. The 3 pads still had meat on them but definitely need new ones because the friction material was in pretty bad shape.
Today I had to replace my radiator on my Caprice because it violently exploded and left me stranded 60 miles from home! I noticed a leak about two weeks ago and ordered a radiator right away becase I had this bad feeling it's not gonna last much longer and well... it didn't! My dad hat to tow me home and then I spent my entire Saturday changing the damn radiator because the transmission oil lines wouldn't come out of the radiator and then the lower one cracked because it was rusty as fuck! So I had to go buy steel tubing and make new oil cooler lines myself which took an atrociating 5 hours to get them bend in the right shape and install them proberly so they don't scrape at the engine or chassis of the car. Now my radiator is fixed and the car is working fine but at this point I'm just waiting for the head gasket to blow because it ran hot when the radiator died so we'll see what's gonna happen...
Currently thinking about getting an Intake but im not to sure wich one and how to get it with TÜV maybe i have to ask them then.
the thing is there are a few companys that have legal ones but they cost about 500 euros more than the illegal ones. Also when you do things like a Turbo inlet from one company you cant easily install the intake from another company
