as I said, you can't subscribe because it's not available on the in-game repository yet scenarios aren't a thing I'm interested in adding, maybe someone else will
I think you should add more break points, like the rear end should be able to break from behind the driver, the rear suspension off of the engine, the nose should be able to break, the wing too, and add more deform spots.
I figured I'd reply to the reply on my review here. About the blowover thing (I am aware of blowovers, because its a huge thing in NASCAR ), I just didn't expect a lower division of F1 to get air at those speeds lol. I'm not the most familiar with Formula Ford/Formula Mazdas. I've only used them on Forza motorsport games, and blowovers arent featured in that game. If these kind of Formula cars actually get air at 90 ish MPH, I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do lol.
they do. they weigh about half a ton so it is very possible. if ferrari a ferrari 458 can do it at 150, a formula car can do it at 90. all it takes is for the front wing to stall and air to get under it.
Very interesting. For what seems like a somewhat slow, somewhat low downforce vehicle (compared to an F1), it really takes off!
F3/F2 cars etc. can catch flight if they get air under them at a certain angle but it’s extremely rare and takes hitting a huge curb at high speeds to “fly” and they never do a true blowover where the car flips from going backwards. They dont really make enough lift from air hitting the underside of the floor to glide like aero cars in beam do. The really just have slightly extended air time. The only race cars I can ever think that do sorta what beam cars do in the air is the late 90s GT1 cars because the air would hit the floor and make the car a kite but even then the car didn’t really glide so much as just flip
yeah, if the low pressure under the car becomes high, and the top of stalls by becoming too high of an angle to keep the air attached, a vacuum will occur above the car, sucking it up, with the high pressure pussing it up too. plus the natural tendency of a race car is for it to do a backflip, so it can happen. in lemans in the 90s, mark weber's car's nose barely lifted, catching the tiniest amounts of air, and the car went over.
I have a minor problem to report, my front wheels break off if i set them on max ofset. and a ABS and ESC system would be great! but respect, a very good mod, cant wait for updates!
ABS and ESC aren’t on the real cars it’s based on. You just have learn how to drive without those drivers aids. Not a dig at you btw
After having driven the car for a bit, I'd like to give some feedback: The good: The car feels very good to drive. In my opinion, it drives like a open-wheel formula car would, though it has a bit too much understeer, but that can be changed with setup tuning, so that's a plus. The model looks really nice when you actually look at it closer. It actually has fire nodes! This is very nice! Could be better: The jbeam, in my opinion, is very lacking, and arguably the weakest part of this car. It honestly feels like a russian meshslap. The rear and front wing are way too hard to take off the car in a collision, and the car behaves very weirdly on frontal impacts. The underfloor being one piece that completely drops off on any kind of impact is also extremely weird. It seems to also be too easy to start a engine fire. It woulld be great if the jbeam had more zones where parts can snap off, aswell.
So far this mod is pretty sick! When do you think we'll see some skins for it? Good work! *edit: The understeer is pretty intense. Was that intentional?
So I noticed a bit of an issue... This is what happened when I pressed play on the script AI path I set on a track builder track of mine
I won't be adding more separating parts for the simple reason that it would be way too much work to divide the jbeam in ways that would allow for more separating parts. I'll be the first to admit that the jbeam isn't perfect, it's my first scratch made one, and it could be better, but destruction wasn't the main goal for this car. The main goal was to have realistic handling properties, be easy to drive/a good base to learn competitive driving on, and to be overall a driving focused car. That said I'll try my best to make the floor harder to separate, fix that fire issue that really buggers me and try to improve my "russian meshslap" jbeam. Thanks for the detailed review it's probably due to the lower front wing downforce and the 40/60 weight distribution. again, correlates with real F3 handling That looks extremely strange and I'm gonna have a look at that asap
Dont Take this as a Insult or anything i love the mod tho. Also some Ideas for a better Seperation 1. When i crash i hate it when it does this: Maybe Seperate the Front Wing like in the Real F1 It would be Crash nicer and dont do this then. 2. Seperate like the Hood or The Side Pieces when you crash sideways you break the side so you may can see some of the engine it makes it just more realistic when more parts coming off. Like this: 3. Maybe Make the Wheels a bit Rounder it looks like a Square almost Also maybe More Tyre Options like "Indermedians / Rain / Super Soft" And Stuff like that... So that was something from me but overall a Really Nice Mod!
This is not a F1 car. 1. The front wing can fly off, but it is way too hard to do so. 2. Refer to the post above your own to see what the author things about that. 3. I agree that the wheels look very square-ey, they need a tiny bit of rounding off on the edges.
Once again, the Mod Author has already stated what he would do in regards to your ideas when I mentioned mine, just above your post.
