CURRENT PUBLIC RELEASE - Alpha 4 (2024-02-11): https://www.beamng.com/threads/auto...sic-grand-prix-kart.60570/page-8#post-1683817 This is a scratch-built racing go-kart based on a chassis design from the early 1980s. It's a similar type of kart to what Formula 1 legends like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher used early in their racing careers. The JBeam was completely rebuilt from scratch in January 2024, and the handling and force feedback have since been exclusively tested on a Direct Drive wheelbase. A '90s style bodykit consisting of a fairing, bumper, and sidepods is optionally available and comes with two liveries by yours truly. Known issues: Brakes do not function in Arcade ABS mode. Use Realistic or ABS Off. Front spindles can invert when turning full lock at speed on keyboard/controller
Agreed! And yes, I'm the guy from YouTube comments that said you need 100,000 subs. It: looking forward to this
this looks amazing can't wait! I feel like adding a dummy as a driver would make it Fun to smash and roll!
It's been some time, hasn't it? I've been learning more about JBeam, suspension geometry, and tire physics little by little. Frame has been rigidified, front geometry completely revised (more realistic KPI, caster, jacking, and Ackermann), tire flex/physics completely revamped, new engine torque curve and sounds. Force feedback is fantastic on a Fanatec wheel thanks to new geometry and tires; feels much closer to KartKraft than it ever has before.
It's been a while, isn't it? Good to see you are back at this mod. Always great to have more parts of motorsport be represented in beam!
