andrzejserafin5 is right, if you made and saved any changes to previous versions, some of the files might not have been overwritten correctly. Deleting the 'garfieldHeights' folder under the Documents>levels folder should do the trick, though I would have expected a cache clear to have done that on its own. Everyone else who is still having problems: check the console (`), scroll up a couple of times and send a screenshot of any lines that are in red. If you're specifically having problems with missing materials/textures send a screenshot or two of those as well. It'll help to know which materials are bugging out.
The map is now showing in the options, but missing textures are still here, the whole land of the Missing textures is replaced with concrete, but these textures were not missing in the old edition Edit: theres way more than you think.
Huh. You're using the most recent version, right? It looks like it's all the officially-sourced materials/textures. Actually, is it materials or textures that are missing? It should say on the orange error texture.
Actually, I might know what's happening. It looks like it's using the old shape files for those objects. To confirm, could you open the console and scroll up until you hit a bunch of red lines that read something like: 'material not found'? If you do, screenshot them, or if you can make heads or tails of them, tell me which materials it claims are missing. And thank you, this is really helping me out.
It truly mystifies me how any of this is even happening. Best advice I can offer for now is to just make sure that every single cache file for the level is deleted. Go to Documents/BeamNG.drive, search for 'garfieldHeights' and delete everything except the mod zip itself. If that doesn't fix it, try holy water.
Deleting the 'garfieldHeights' folder in the path ..\Documents\BeamNG.drive\levels\ did the trick for me. Somehow the auto-update over the UI must have been faulty, as i had the old thunbnail with the text but with newest version number in the UI. Then i deleted the map from repo, cleared the chache folder and downloaded map it again by hand. This time the missing textures occured. Then the method as described above solved it.
That's what I was afraid of. Looks like the game is trying to use old, long outdated models that have materials that aren't in use anymore. Yeah, just search the entire Documents>BeamNG.drive folder for anything garfieldHeights-related, and delete everything but the .zip. I know all the cache files exist to keep level load times down, but I wish it wasn't so hard to remove all the outdated files.
Let me do that real quick Edit: I deleted all the garfield heights files but the zip file for it, lets see if it works?
Okay, thanks everyone for the help. I've updated the main overview post to include the steps to fix the issues (written in red), hopefully that should reduce the number of people having issues.
I'd love to see what you come up with, but I don't think the map needs an official trailer yet. It is still pretty unfinished.
I was having the same issues, but I fixed it doing what everyone else was, but from afar, some telephone poles turn orange? Also, I'm excited to see where those tracks go
This is gonna sound super basic and maybe petty, but clear your cache again. The billboards (fake 2d images that are sometimes used as the distant detail on models) are generated on the user's end on the level's first startup. Since you were hit with the no material issue when you first started this version, that's literally what the game thinks they should look like.
