Hello, I was wondering, would it be okay to revamp a WOM mod? I have a Chevy Tahoe from there. I want to edit the J-Beam, make some more configs, re-brand it as a Gavril, and fix some bugs if I discover them, so basically it makes the mod better all together. It is technically re-uploading, but then again, they re-upload mods from here all the time and it's not like they would do anything, would they? In addition to that, I would be modifying it, so it would be somewhat okay, right? Thanks for reading
Not exactly. Taking a WOM mod is basically stealing content from the creators here again. All those car mods are stolen from private groups and DMs where it was uploaded for popular users like myself. I don't use those mods anymore but keep them as back ups. Also you would need the model maker's and mod makers permission. But for personal use that's fine, it's against the rules to work on a mod with a model that isn't yours.
@baarry5444 was the original creator. He had plans on releasing it but it got reuploaded but credits are as shown. Credits: Shadydk311 - original author of the model Gamemodels.ru - model is downloaded from that site BeamNG Team - used the Roamer JBeam structure and parts from the Roamer, D-Series, and official content baarry5444 - converted the model to BeamNG and made the changes listed above
Thanks for telling me the author! --- Post updated --- He limits who can see his profile How could I contact him? Edit: Im stupid, I can just hit start a convo.
Well, technically you can't steal something that is free... so it's just reuploading, but with or without consent
Alright. I messaged him, but no response yet. I won't reupload without consent though, just because I don't want to get yelled at by someone.
can i get a link? --- Post updated --- Just an edit about what I said: I will not be doing a Gavril Rebranding. It is too complicated for my skill level, since you have to edit every file name, every jbeam, every .PC file, etc.
