I recently bought a computer with a A8 processor and bought a msi r9 270 oc edition graphics card. I can run BeamNG on the grid map with about 20fps but as soon as i switch to a map like insane testing or even dry rock island i get 15fps. Is this normal or is there something i can do to fix it? :p

There is something wrong. Have you installed the card drivers? Are other games also running that bad?

I think i have the most recent drivers. should i get them from msi or amd? And i can get 30fps in farming sim 2013 and about 20-30 fps in train sim 2013. That is all the games i have to test.

    Thanks for the help

Always from AMD. MSI and other brands release the same drivers but they usually do it later, like weeks or months later. You should be getting 60 fps on farming/train sim with everything on max graphics.

Is it possible that you are using the APU for graphics instead of the GPU? Because it would make sense with the low framerates you are getting.

Is BeamNG seeing your card? Check options on the menu screen. In my case I'm running it on my card w/fresh driver update but Beam shows it using onboard Intel 4600. Weird.

Definitely a problem. I've got a 270 (check my sig.) and I get about 35 to 40 fps on DRI fully maxed graphics with PostFX.

Darn why do you suppose it is so high? also 140 Fahrenheit is what the gpu runs at and the apu is usually at 130.

20FPS on Grid and 10-15FPS with one car is what I got on a cheap Toshiba laptop running Intel 4000 onboard. Something's not right for sure. Do you have a utility suite with your r2 to help optimize it?? Perhaps some of the AMD
wizards in here could be of help.:D

I'll give the advice I learned very quickly: scour the site thoroughly for the subject at hand. It takes time and patience, like being a crime detective. I've picked up all sorts of tidbits doing that.

Your welcome. I wish I could help on the tech but I'm not there yet. Hardware issues are well documented here and everyone should be able to enjoy this awesome program.

8.1 is close enough. However, those errors show a much different problem. If windows can't update itself then something is broken. Do a virus scan. I like malware bytes.
