this is like some of the tech support issues I have to deal with haha
firstly, what are the specs of your computer, and secondly, do you have mods?

if your computer is a hp Pavillion from 2003, that is your answer, if you have mods, run the game in safe mode from the launch menu

    oof, only 11 years out.

in your documents folder, there should be a folder called beamng.drive. that is where all of the user data for the game is stored.

try renaming that folder to beamng.drive1. see if that lets the game start. also, do you know if your drivers are up to date?

also, by "nothing happens" do you mean, the game launches but is frozen, no windows pop up, a crash box appears, computer freezes?

do you know your exact PC specs as well?

was it shipped with windows 7 8 or 10. you should be able to reinstall windows 10 without any major issues. i would suggest getting a 250gb sad as it will speed up your system drastically. also, don't go for brands like data or sundian. go for brands such as Kingston, crucial, corsair and Samsung.

do you know what the specs of the laptop are and the year it was made? hp usually have a 3 year warranty on their devices

no, but in 2020, they have become the standard. all of the devices I use have ssds now. devices without ssds are considered too slow for me lol.

they are cheap. fast and reliable.

ssds are best for boot drives

hdds are best for long term storage

i would buy a 4gb stick of laptop ram and and ssd. my laptop, also from 2014 (specs in signature) can just run this game on the highest settings. at around 10 fps, on the lowest, it runs at 40.

ram is unlikely your problem, though. it is more likley the dead hard drive
