Some more trivia about this: t3d originally worked by converting data into network packets, sending them through a sort of fake local connection to itself, de-packetizing data, and then finally processing the data. Instead of simply processing the data, right then and there, with zero intermediate steps. This apparently useless process could definitely serve online purposes in other games, such as some first person shooters. But it had always been useless to us (even if we ever decided to implement proper multiplayer). Instead, this packetizing system just made development and maintenance harder for us than it should, and also made the game perform slower than it otherwise could. So eventually we tackled the issue, and removed it. It took us a marathonian effort, involving all engine coders, through many weeks of work. It was very deeply intertwined everywhere (it even affected the world editor). This effort probably ended up as 1 line in some update changelog, but it made our lifes easier for sure Even after that effort, there are still some remnants in various places. Which is what you are observing today
I see that metallic paint on more vehicles, someones mod or are they hinting on what i hope? Click the Spoiler box. https://beamng.com/threads/communit...e-of-beamng-drive.1141/page-4467#post-1147631
I think an official two door roamer would be cool, say based on the Charro chassis. Kinda like a two door Chevrolet Tahoe or if you wanna go weird, the Mexico only Dodge Ramcharger.
I think the pre-Bluebluck drag cars really need period-correct liveries. Yes, I know this ain't speculating, but just wanted to get this out of my mind.
Does anyone notice that the lights on the service station in Utah turn on when you set the daytime to night? Does that mean there will be maps where the buldings and houses will be illuminated at night, like in real life? Or was this already implemented in-game?
Your an update late but yeah I'm expecting environmental lights coming soon to all maps. Utah was the first to implement it on both the Garage and tourist information building.
We saw synsol using metallic paint on that vivace with the new badges. It'd be awesome to see the devs looking into making it an official feature
If we are talking about drag car bits, I'd like to for the millionth time point out how cool tubbed rear ends would be...
If I had to wager a guess, I'd say a possible reason for the lack of a hotfix in all this time (it took four days for a hotfix for 0.18 to come out, and it's been 10 days since 0.19 came out) is that they don't want to disrupt the modding competition (that they've officially endorsed) by inadvertently breaking some contestants' mods. Then again, the contest ends May 14, and I find it extremely unlikely we won't see a hotfix until then.
In my opinion, they are ironing all the bugs for one hotfix, instead of releasing like three or four. Or they are adding new stuff for the game,so it takes time.
I highly doubt that the devs would wait to update the game due to an event on the forums, endorsed or not. My guess is that the wait has something to do with the trophy truck/crawler D-Series shown off a few weeks ago.
The Bolide really needs a overhaul as it lacks some content that we would like to see. The Pigeon has not many parts for it , but it has some mods for it that adds more content.
I'm surprised the Bolide was put off as long as it was. At least the D series, Roamer and Grand Marshal had gotten some new parts and updates. The Bolide is pretty much identical to it's release version back from 2013. Same engine and drivetrain mesh, same body, same interior. It's gotten a few skins, a wing, and some police lights and that's about it.
