Hi, is it possible to have the impact sound of the 0.18 in the 0.19 ? The new impact sound seem odd, we do not hear the glass breaking and the new sound cut off too early. I think they needed more tweaking before being added in the new update.

Edit: This post isnt toward dev, they do what ever they want with their game, I just want to know if its possible to change the new impact sound to the old one (Like in beamng file or with a mod or anything else)

I was thinking about this last night crashing into AI, it seems like the depth of the impacts is gone. Its almost just a flat "thud" then near silence or some tire squeals. Its not bad, it just comes off a bit odd like you said.

I think TDK was refering there to the sounds from 0.18 & them not sounding realistic, but like a hollywood movie instead. I like the new glass breaking sound, it actually reminds me of proper car glass being shattered than just a house window pane

It's not a matter of 'fixing' because the new sounds you hear are not caused by a bug but are implemented with intention.

TDK said the previous sounds were overall not very realistic, so they made some changes to it. However, there is still a bug in the code that needs to be fixed, so sounds will improve a bit once this gets fixed.

I had the 'opportunity' to hear and see a 150kmh car accident with a car rolling maybe 5 rolls. I find the new sound more realistic, it was a bunch of thuds and the slightest amount of glass sound but that was not very noticable. All occupants survived, more or less without injuries. Beer cans all over the place.

When I said "fixing" it was about that haha

So on topic, nobody know how to get the old crashing sound from 0.18 ?

Yep, as I mentioned in another thread, the new sounds are intentional and there is no intention to revert.

The V0.18 ones were way too over the top, too 'Hollywoodised' as I call it, and would be appropriate in just about ever other driving/racing game out there. Indeed when I made the old ones, a couple of years ago... some of you may remember that they replaced a single sound which played for all impact types. The intention was to redo them again, but perhaps a bit earlier than V0.19 as people do get used to things and find it difficult to accept change sometimes... especially as the new sounds are quite underwhelming compared to the old ones... and indeed compared to what we may hear on the small or large screen in terms of TV and film.

However, they are now way more realistic from a simulation point of view. Rather than trigger one large sound which may have a combination of sounds mixed in to it, with a long tail of decaying sounds these new samples far are more individual and indeed are triggered, haha, individually. They represent a panel being hit rather than a large vehicle being crushed.

The V0.18 sounds ARE still there, and indeed they are being played, but the logic for this isn't working correctly at the moment, and I'm just waiting for some code support to look at this. I want them to continue to trigger on huge crushes, like what happens when a vehicle is dropped from 50 metres etc... but generally, I want to hear the panels.

Glass, as mentioned... I've replaced the sound of a window pane being dropped on to a hard surface.... with actual modern vehicle reinforced glass being hit. In the future, I'd like to have modern glass, vintage glass (which would be more, er, glassy) and plastic (for race cars).....
