As far as I can tell, the stock ESC system only kicks in once the vehicle STARTS to skid (tyres break traction). A "predictive" system makes corrections BEFORE actual slippage occurs by sensing tiny slips that don't break the tyre loose, as well as being so sensitive that it can detect something such as a bump (that could cause the tyres to break traction).

No, the existing ESC doesn't care at all about tire traction, it purely works by looking at fast the car is rotating around its Z axis and what it thinks how big that value should be in a given situation.

I understand that part. The existing system's threshold for that difference (actual rotation vs what it thinks the rotation should be) means it only activates once traction is lost. My mod reduces that threshold and changes a few other tuning values. Therefore, it makes corrections when it sees the vehicle rotating even a tiny bit more/less quickly than is requested by the driver. This allows it to sense tiny disruptions in the vehicle's handling (road undulations in a turn, the vehicle landing after a flight, etc.) and "think ahead" in a way about what might happen (by being very sensitive).

hopefully the car comes out soon! it looks really promising! The wait period for the car is much longer than I originally anticipated...

It will come when it is ready. They are trying to give us something we want and make it work.

You weren't around way back in the "race" update days. they teased it way way back in 2014 and we got a lot of pre-race update. I'm pretty sure the "race" update was offically released in 2016 if I recall.

Don't ever expect BeamNG to follow anything to a T. They will release things when things come together and are completed. I'm pretty sure when they teased Italy it was a bit of a waiting hurdle too.

Reducing the threshold does not change anything about how it works. It will just make it react earlier. Given that the model used to calculate the expected yawAV isn't perfectly accurate (single track models are not perfect), you'll just increase the amount of errors the system makes.

Yes, of course. I was trying to figure-out if you're attempting to simulate these types of system and it appears you are. That'll make an interesting addition to the game!

Looks reasonable on my end, but realistically, any car with a bright red paint job like that is gonna look too bright in the sun.

To properly simulate the Vivace we will need a version that's legal in the USA maps under Show & Display laws and to buy a standard spec in any USA map the player will need to import it via bringing it to compliance. This will therefore be an end game vehicle, likely the most expensive in game. This is what you'll work for throughout the entire career mode.
