Took a comparison pic for the steering wheel. The two I took are at 1.35 and 0.65 gamma respectively. Interpret it as you will.

While I'm at it, when are the older cars going to get interiors that look decent?.. Just look at the GM's interior compared to above. Same graphics settings...

The Charro and Roamer do need a luxury trim. The 'Buck (why am I changing my nickname for it to appease people?..) has the Marshal, the GM has the Luxe, and the D-Series has the Chief Rancher. I personally think the Charro and Roamer will both get a new luxury edition nameplate since "Chief Rancher" doesn't fit a passenger vehicle, "luxe" doesn't fit the market segment and "Marshal" doesn't feel period correct.

It looks like the interior nadeox posted has better dynamic range, with more details in the highlights and shadows. Probably another improvement in the lighting.

This isn't relevant to the mirror speculations, but can someone explain the "Charro" thing to me?

    Don't get it o_O

It's the name of the new short body D-Series, like "Bronco." "D10 Charro" could be considered analogous to "K5 Blazer."

is it bad that, out of everything that's coming in 0.19, i'm most excited for the lighting update? It looks fantastic compared to the system we have now.

Some time ago I've suggested this change for the Vivace, which was staff picked (that made my day btw). I just want to know if it was taken into consideration, as it improves the rear hatch design quite a lot. Thanks!

I just noticed we have got nothing new for the H-series? We haven't got any info on that part yet while the D has the prefacelift and the Roamer has the long chasis.

Was doing some digging through super old BeamNG developer posts around the time of Jungle Rock Island's development, and I came across this:
    https://www.beamng.com/threads/micro-blog-s-may-2015-to-july-2015.13551/page-9#post-229006

No idea how to quote from locked threads, so here's the text from LJFHutch:
"Nah, JRI influence was a combination of some mountain roads from where I grew up, some roads in (I think) Taiwan and a bunch of tropical places.
I've also wanted a realistic driving game in a place similar to the island in Jurassic Park for as long as I can remember; the Jeep scene was pretty memorable for me"

So basically JRI is a generic island in the Pacific, not completely based on Taiwan as I thought previously, and thus it could literally be turned into anything (within reason) for its inevitable remake. So as of now, most of the remaining maps have a ton of flexibility in regards to their respective settings. Small Island is supposed to be an island off the East Coast of the USA, of which there are numerous chains, and I've got my fingers crossed for the Outer Banks on this one. Port and Industrial Site have to be coastal, but could wind up being set literally anywhere. And of course, JRI is an island in the Pacific Ocean, likely off the coast of Asia, and I'm still holding out all hope that we see something Japanese finally.

I cannot stress this enough, these last few map upgrades are the most important map upgrades out of them all. Once these maps are remastered, all maps will be at acceptable quality levels and the last holdouts from 2013 will finally be up to standard, and then I'm assuming developer focus will be on completely new levels again. As stated above, these maps aren't as grounded as let's say East Coast USA, or Utah which had to be based on Maine and Utah respectively with very little wiggle room and previously well established locations that really couldn't be drastically changed. These last few older maps aren't bound by these restrictions, therefore they could literally be turned into anything. A ton of work needs to be done to bring these maps up to current standards, and honestly I'd expect massive changes given that remasters for most of the levels in question have been WIP since 2018 and they're so empty and undeveloped that there isn't much there to begin with, therefore the developers have a ton of freedom with creative design. Given the quality standards they've established with the ECA and Utah remakes, I wouldn't be surprised if these last few remakes feel like completely new maps when they make the inevitable jump from 2013 to 2020 standards.

I'm very, very curious as to how this is going to play out. Small Island, Port, and Industrial Site combined is still smaller than East Coast, USA (3 sq km compared to ECA's 4), and also given that they seem to be doing the most popular maps first and then doing the less popular ones later, I really suspect JRI will appear as a "flagship" map this update. Not to mention that 0.17 didn't just bring East Coast, but Hirochi Raceway and Derby Arenas too, so having all these maps drop at once isn't out of the picture.
Come on devs, just drop some level remaster teasers to give us at least something to properly speculate with!

I doubt JRI will have any updates for 0.19 (let alone every other map with maybe some proper street lights which seem quite simple to add).

I respectfully disagree on the JRI remaster front, but I'm not completely sure what you're saying about the street lights. As of Nadeox1's recent posts, it appears that streetlights are not coming this update.

Post on social media are not indicative of active development. Since Beamng.drive dev team is a remote team it's entirely possible that Nadeox1 does not have a version with working street lights (I'm going off Utah environmental lights of why I think it's possible for some sort of street light update in .19). JRI for .19 I have heard nothing, no hints, no screenshots, not a thing about JRI. Small island, Industrial, Port are all small simple maps JRI is a absolute nightmare to remake into something good without running all previous user made and dev made scenarios (since the devs want to try and keep all original roads the same).
JRI is in my personal opion the worst dev made map due to it making 0 sense of any of the buildings excluding the forts and observatory. The port being so massive without any sort of abandon military buildings, all the paved roads on such a small island and the lack of any sort of housing. What was the quarry and processing plant about gravel because I doubt there's any sort of valuable resource on that island besides zinc or sulfur.

All I'm saying is this. JRI has only 1 real reason ATM that makes sense is a short trip to the old observatory and back down to the docks to leave. No hotels or tourist facility's for it to be a tourist island, no proper resource to be used for mining reasons and it's clearly a unimportant strategic position for military operations after 1950 along with a dormant (possibly active) volcano.
