Hello, I am making a mod. One of the things I want to include is a rally config for the grand marshal. Since it doesn't have a livery, I thought I would make one. The only problem: The UV map is way too complicated for me. I have to fill in each little square which leaves small spaces behind. My idea is to fill it in with red, cover half of it up with some blue, add a yellow number and some yellow accents, and lastly add a few logos such as Nomi. Is there a way I can get my hands on a simple UV or is there a workaround? (by simple UV I mean something like the sample covet one below) Thanks, Outheblu P.S. I'm new, this is only my second mod
What program are you using to make the livery? Usually you'd use layers, where the UV is the base layer and every part of your livery goes on a layer above that. Programs like Photoshop, Gimp, and Paint.net all use layers. Where Paint.net also has the ability to save in the correct format.
With paint.net, select a box around the area you want to paint Then select the Magic Wand Tool, and hold ALT and left click near the outside of your box. Then you can fill this, or copy it to a new layer and fill it.
Whoops, I meant to reply to this! The 'holes' are just the polygons on the 3D mesh, like this. To add to what I said previously, you can just add a new layer and paint right over it. In the end you delete the UV map layer anyways
