Say, the devs have been fairly active in this thread lately...

 

They cant walk over and bugger their co-workers anymore and sending memes to eachother is only fun for so many hours in a day (approx 12) so they will have to kill time by chatting with us, the plebs

probably a stretch, but imagine a working reverse camera...

 

considering that weird mirrored video nade posted, it's possible they're (at least experimenting with) reworking reflections, and I could see cameras being part of that. in fact, i'd imagine the ability to separately render stuff for mirrors and dashboard screens would probably be useful for splitscreen, if tht is in fact what that video was showing.

I can assure you that it takes significantly longer than two weeks to make a vehicle to our standards. If it only took two weeks to make a vehicle then we would have an awful lot more vehicles in the game and I would be having a lot fewer headaches about whether or not we're keeping to our schedule.

I think a lot of the misconceptions the community (and myself I will admit) regarding the game are caused by the fact that the long term plans for the game really haven't been communicated with the community. This discrepancy is very odd, as the team has been doing a relatively good job in regards to communication of short term plans, but when it comes to long term plans we really haven't heard anything substantial for years. Given how long this game has been in development (approaching eight years from the first ever trailer, which is extremely long for a video game), a lot of us are really unsure as to what the plans are in the long term. It would be really great to see a sequel to this, as it's approaching four years old and a lot has changed, or even some sort of a long term roadmap (it would significantly improve communication, however it might be a bit too restrictive for the fluid nature of this game's development). If the communication of long term plans for the game is addressed, the community would be able to understand what the development team's vision is for this project in the long term, and thus allow us to understand why things are being done the way they are being done and why certain projects are taking so long. As of now there's definitely a massive gap in communication, and it's extremely frustrating having bought this game in 2015 expecting some sort of a complete version in the next few years and it now being 2020 with no end in sight and communication as to the long term plan being basically non-existent.

 

Woah woah woah! Why is this thread getting so heated up? they're a small team of developers (all of which have lifes to live) and i am sure they are doing everything they can to bring us high quality updates.
I mean, seriously, just calm down! When the update is ready. its ready.

PS: i am not trying to act like "the voice of reason" here, and i am not trying to offend anyone. but its just that i really dont like where this is going with all the "UhH ReLeAsE CaR PlEaSe!" or "WhY Is ThIs TaKiNg So LoNg?!?111! UHHHH!" Making an update for a game like this is NOT an easy nor fast process.
