I am running the current version of the game and cannot find the mods folder. Does anyone know where it is in the game files? (humble bundle version)

Well the 'mods folder' doesn't come with the game, you have to go into your game's files, create a mod folder, the place mods there. DO NOT unzip them, or they won't work. If it has a 'Verify files' or something like that, open them then make the mods folder. The mods folder never comes when you installed the game, you have to do it your self. Or you can press the subscribe buttons on some mods to make it easier :) (sorry if i repeated anything, also i'm not sure if this works with the humble bundle version)

It's really not advised to put the mods in the game folder because it may not be able to overwrite them properly
(mods in the document folder have higher priority than files in the game folder)

Steam and humble bundle are exactly the same and use the same default location as @CaptainZoll said

Also if possible don't unzip as it's slower in some cases than zip files

No, that’s the wrong way to do it. It works, but it will cause things to overwrite one another.
