Hey guys, this is the thread for my MSC map porting project. There's not much to say about this so far, so I'll keep it short. 2024 Edit - So as of about late Feb '24 I restarted the project, messed around with the exported combined meshes for a few days, forgot about it until about the 22nd of March, and as of a day later it was in a better state than the previously released copies of the map. Realistically speaking only needing drag racing and other QoL things before re-release. Updated pics further down reflect that ~1 week worth of progress from scratch. Having made mods for base game MSC to help myself export things like AI navigation waypoints and other tools to accurately see what materials/textures meshes actually use instead of guessing as before... overall it should be a lot higher quality than before even if it took me about 1/8th the actual working time to get it here. I lost an ancient version nearly a year ago yeah, but i started from scratch again in september. The guys on the discord server who had the latest version are still testers i guess so. I'll sort another tester thing out on my server in a bit, when there's actually a new version to give you.
YEEEEEEES, its not lost to the abyss, good that this is back, just one question, would this be fairly fps friendly map, it is not a very highly detailed map like the other official maps so it wouldn't be so hardware intensive.. right?
Interesting map, I want to carry cargo on it in a truck. Is it possible to make areas with dirt, and put a sawmill for example?
Should be easy to run even without LODs as everything is very low poly and the textures are low res. It won't use BeamNG's tree or grass assets as i'm sure they'd not fit in very well and significantly reduce performance compared to the 2D plane trees with simple colliders that this map already has. As it's is a mesh based port, no not really. It'd be a lot of hassle to do and I want to retain the maps originality.

yes, i like this project. also i've never been to finland but reliable sources tell me that in the 90s they grew trees with nintendo 64 dev kits so that's the canonical reason to the 2d alpha texture scenery bush

I can hardly wait for this map. Yeah sure, it's a port from My Summer Car, but I'm still looking forward to this map.

Can you make only a very select number/kind of cars spawn so we can replicate the assholery of the MSC Ai?
