1996 thunderbird lx 4.6 v8. It only had one owner(im the second) its in near perfect condition inside and out the only issue is that the sunroof broke. I bought it for 800 dollars. Since ive had it I have put in new shocks and got rid of the white walls tires and put new tires on it.

2004 Nissan Xterra. I got it as my first car in high school back in 2012 and still rockin' it to this day. Got it for $8k back then with 115k miles and it's sitting at 164k today. It's got a ton of nice options, power windows, locks, 4x4, 5 speed manual, auto dimming mirror, and cruise control. It's got the N/A 3.3 V6 which is laughably under powered and fuel inefficient (16MPG on a good day) but damn reliable. I'm a little biased with it being my first car and all, but I love it to no end. I think it's the perfect car. I've kept it bone stock since I bought it but this spring, as a sort of graduation present to myself, I'm modding it pretty heavily. I've got a light bar and some daylighters mounted on the roof, I've got a 3" lift coming soon, and I've got a full set of bumpers and skid plates on order from Shrockworks. When I get everything installed, I'm throwing on some bigger tires and a winch to make this thing an offroad beast. I might also get a bigger alternator to run the lights and electrical accessories.

1996 Renault Megane 2.0 16V (F7R engine) Basically bone stock, currently in the process of restoring it, may do some power mods later. Currently 150hp feels just about enough to have some fun, In the future I'll be shooting for 200hp N/A. I rarely drive that thing lol... My dad uses it to get to and back from work, for me its too fragile. I mean, I had to drive it for few weeks and engine already started knocking and front suspension started squeaking. Engine knock fixed itself after a month of not driving flat out everywhere, but shot suspension didn't.
a word of advice. find something that you can afford and that is paid for, then focus on getting what you want or something close to it.
I think we all want an 86 deep down, but running ones are expensive and non-running ones take a lot of work. And they're super rare (here in the mid-atlantic USA anyways). Best of luck with that. An Altezza on the other hand...

a TE71 Corolla GT is 99% identical to the AE86 mchanically (engine not withstanding) yet no one seems to care about it other than serious toyota nerds, im sure if it was in some anime with 5629 layers of plot armour and an engine that doesn't exist in it then people would care about it.
Well I mean even before Initial D the AE86 was a good car. It was the last RWD Corolla iirc and it when it first came out, it was a cheap, reliable, and stable car, and when drifting was popularized it was a good choice due to its loose but fun handling.
I like my BRZ. It's a 2017 model that's pretty fun to drive. Just got it a few months ago. --- Post updated --- Of course, I can't drive it in snowy/extremely rainy weather, so my winter car is a 2009 Toyota Tacoma that is great at offroading.
I've heard the BRZ/FRS/GT86 model is like the slowest fast-looking car ever or something. How's the acceleration?
Yeah the acceleration isn't that quick, but it doesn't feel underpowered, plus it's super fun to drive. Taking corners is super nimble. I considered the Miata too but decided this was better cause the cabin's a bit roomier and I get a backseat to put my shit in.
