Great! There's not too many open wheel cars around . Do you have any plans to add driver there (like FR17 has)? Car looks cool, reminds Formula Nippon old chassis. --- Post updated --- And who needs electric when there's V8!
when this is finished, you should make a config with an engine, and a paint scheme for every manufacture (1 to 2 for each)
Currently not planning to add drivers, driver weight will be simulated but personally I find the idea of simulating people in a car crash game a bit unpleasant And yes, the chassis is mostly designed to look cool, I've gone for mostly the 2021 F1 concept car but stuff from other series has been implemented too. 1. Logistics is a big part of motorsport especially at this level, so there would be benefits to a sponsorship with a logistics-related company. Also there are plenty of different types of sponsors in motorsport, from energy drinks to telecom companies all the way to construction equipment manufacturers (JCB for example) so why not Randolph? 2. Why would a brake company sponsor a motorsport team? There will be series sponsors for this such as Folk, Grip-All, Rotopad and more, no point having Rotopad sponsor one car, what will all the other cars use instead? None of these lore related things are final either, and skins will be some of the last things that are done to the car before release.
companies can sponsor multiple cars. you can have Rotopad sponsor one main team but then have Rotopad be a secondary sponsor for other teams. One example in real life is Petronas sponsoring Mercedes as a primary sponsor but also supplying fuel and lubricants to Torro Rosso at some races even though the two teams use completely different engines.
More progress, front suspension is coming together and with some design advice from @OverPower and @Ulrich I've redone the front wing to make it fit the rest of the car better.
Also I think for Civetta Racing they need to be the oldest team out there, like Ferrari is in the real F1, but yeah should be fun seeing what you do and it appears you are following the 2021 regs for the car design, I cannot wait to see what I can do with this car when its released
Not many open wheel mods out there on this game, and this one looks promising! Looking forward to it!
Personally having accurate suspension damage is very important for an open wheeler in this game so I'll be striving to do the best I can in this area. Absolutely not, current SBR4 based test car shows none of those characteristics and I can't see how the custom chassis car will do the same either. Using some of the jbeam aero features (mostly used on aircraft) such as stallAngle can sort these issues out if they do arise.
I don't mind if it takes off like a regular open wheel, as long as it doesn't become an airplane then it'll be ok.
I guess when this racing vehicle is released to the members on here Inertia it will be quite something, also should be fun with the NOS hits on it but yeah, what about a different version of it that has a Turbocharger or a Supercharger (select the one thats not in the works please) for it, I am just saying could make things interesting for possible upgrade paths for future updates?
