Finally got my old TV working again and ended up with this pic

 

My editing skills are not great but I hope this can help some people

 

Until a month ago, I was on Windows 7.

Windows 10 is certainly lighter than windows 7 after MS bloated it with service packs. but I too miss the lack of ads.

 

Where are you guys getting ads?
I dont get any

 

I wanna know the same, never had an issue with ads

 

They exist, but only under certain circumstances.

1. You use the built in apps (such as weather app)
   
2. Fresh install comes with some boat on the start menu

But once you have uninstalled those things, there aren't any.

I think it's fair to argue that a paid OS shouldn't come with adverts baked in out of the box. But as with many things that exist out of the box in windows, you can generally disable or tone them down a bit.
if only that was true of web search results in the start menu... (without doing questionable stuff to the os)

 

I have no ads either. I perform a clean install every month and I have most of the built-in apps uninstalled.

My last Windows install lasted 8 years. I don't want to imagine going through the install process 96 times over that period. Especially considering that when it did get replaced by a fresh install of Win10 there wasn't any difference in speed.

 

I have backups of everything, a secondary HDD for standalone programs (more often than not they are operative right away, some need fresh settings, some must be reinstalled anew) and often perform quicker "on self" installs when possible.

It's my job after all, so doing it for my main workstation comes natural...

 

So I did this last night...

 

I’ve been working on my snowmobile the past few weeks. I got it running good and cleaned it up. The paint is in really nice shape surprisingly.

I took it for the first ride over the weekend. It was fun, until the steering broke. It was rotted where the steering column attaches the the belly pan, and it snapped. I pulled the motor, made some patterns, and tomorrow I’m going to make some patches to rivet in there. This is only going to be temporary. Over the summer I’m planning on either finding a good used belly pan, or fixing this one the right way. I also have some electrical problems to address, the rear suspension needs attention, and I need to find a better seat. But I can’t complain, it was free.

 

I really need to do an engine swap on my truck. 388k miles isn't too bad for a 3.0L V6 right?
Edit: I’m thinking about tearing out this motor and getting either an LS or a 5.0 to put in this later on. But for right now I need to push this motor till it’s dead.

In the previous generation Rangers there actually was a diesel IIRC. I could possibly find one and throw that in.

 

My dad's old PC got handed down to me a few days ago. It's the one I played BeamNG on (borrowed it) and it has a GTX 980, an Intel i7 3770k (old, i know), an Asus motherboard (can't remember which one, know it started with a P and it says "ready for windows 8" on the package lol), and overall just some older parts.
My dad is a photographer, which is why he built that PC in the first place (lightroom, photoshop, etc.) and it was pretty good for its time (around 7-8 years ago) but he wanted something faster.
He bought a Ryzen 9 3950x, a gaming motherboard, a Radeon 5700xt, a power supply, RAM, (this list could go on and on, let's just say he built an entirely new PC) and he kept his disk drive (physical copy gang rise up) and he put it in his old Cooler Master case. So basically a sleeper.
I'm jealous of that case. Even though my NZXT is compact and has a glass panel, it has about as much ports and spaces for ports as those new bullsh*t macbooks (3 goddamn ports on the new model).
Luckily the old motherboard has a ton of ports, even a VGA port, which is hilarious.
He rebuilt the old one in my new case, and built the new one in his case. My dad built 2 PC's in one weekend. Pretty impressive for someone who hasn't upgraded in literal years.
My new monitor is cool, but the 144hz refresh rate is going to take some time getting used to.

might have mistaken it with another port though, i'm not very good with computers

 

literally every computer i've had has had vga...

 

i mean tv's

 

My understanding is that VGA is still somewhat commonly used.
