With the lighting rework we got with the last major update, it seems like we won't have to wait long before other maps will get a Lighting revamp to make them look good at night.
Well, I think these are some peculiar cases, seeing as how Italy (4096x4096m) is twice the size of WCUSA (2048mx2048m), and as such, Italy would be more densely populated with vegetation as far as I know. Someone might need to make a WCUSA diet map like they did Italy.
It needs an overall update too. I feel like it could've used maybe 2 and a half more months in development. But, with the recent cycle of map updates, I'm keeping my hopes high that we'll see something soon, whether it be just optimization or a full update.
WCUSA used some experimental map features, and something definetly seems to be weird. When it first came out, a lot of users with proper gaming PCs reported awful performance, yet my 745m could handle it fine. Even now my old laptop with a 745m can get about the same FPS on Italy and WCUSA, yet my new computer with a 1660ti does not like WCUSA. It's the only map I get frame drops and artifacts on and I get maybe 10fps less than I do on Italy.
Guys, optimizations are important, But this thread is about the lighting for buildings at Night in particular. Lets not Get offtopic this quickly.
I think the devs mentioned it in the lgihting update, that not all maps were update to the new lighting yet. Also, WCUSA is slow due to drawcalls, i think, atleast according to @bob.blunderton and it sound right. Looking forward to that problem solved too since i cant use it but all other maps are fine.
