Hello modders, I've been a quiet lurker and mod user for about two years now on BeamNG. I've been seeing many great mods on the forum and many great mods in progress, and decided I jump in and start my own mod. Just as an FYI, I AM NOT VERY EXPERIENCED IN MODDING, at all, I'm only familiar with blender. The Saguma Move is based off what we know as the Suzuki Carry truck (2017), an adorable kei truck. This will probably grow into a challenge as you'll see how much detail must be carried over into the bed area where the engine is and drivetrain area. The blender model is currently very rough and barebones and is only touching the surface. I will definitely need help later (i don't understand jbeam and how to create seperate parts, still researching that, much more i don't know). Just a taste of what I hope to accomplish, here are some basic ideas planned for the Saguma Move (THESE ARE ONLY IDEAS) 658 cc inline 3-cylinder engine (diesel later?) 658 cc inline 3-cylinder turbo engine (diesel later?) 650 cc inline 3-cylinder hybrid (diesel maybe?) rwd 4wd (with hi-lo) 5 speed manual on all trims (yes, including the hybrid) CVT (optional) Standard Cab Super Cab DuoCab (maybe) MoveSlide (Van) other fun trims like a fruit truck maybe When I figure out jbeam later on, I would like to experiment to design a somewhat safer kei truck, lol. A much requested updated OP; Update #13 is the latest update: (CHECK BOTTOM-MOST PICTURES) Big Update 1? Uh, this explains it all So, here are images of the start of the project, only the roof and a-pillar. I was planning on moving onto the front end of it, but the only blueprint of a da16t suzuki carry (2017) was the one seen in screenshot, and there was no top view of the vehicle and couldn't move forward since I needed the top view. I originally thought I could work my way around it, but proved me wrong. Are there any methods to make the model with this lack of the top view of the blueprint? Or if any of you have a top view of a suzuki carry (da16t if possible) or any help would be much thanked. Before anyone laughs that im using a mac os laptop for this, it's simply smoother for blender imo, but I carry files over via usb drive to my home windows pc (laggy potato, but simple beamng maps work fine). Please feel free to offer help and comments!
(Because it is a machine translation, the sentence may be a little strange) I am Japanese. I've been hoping for a "K Track" mod for many years. You are doing a very good job. please keep trying your best! --- Post updated --- I'm going to say that there is a place where I was a little concerned. The K Truck's engine runs on regular gasoline, not diesel. I found a top view image.
They usually use 4-speed auto gearbox for these kei-trucks. CVTs are not as reliable as traditional gearboxes
Older kei trucks do use 4-speed manual. New trucks usually use 5-speed manual. Or 3/4-Speed automatic. The truck in the below picture is CMC Veryca(the overall size is bigger than the Japanese spec Suzuki Carry). Use a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed auto(1.5L 4-cylinder).
WOAH! i would love to drive this in beamng! Really looking forward to see this in it's full completeness!
YES, FINALLY! Maybe you could take the ibishu dove (four wheel pigeon, not d-series) frame and use that for the base for the model
UPDATE #1: Paneling progress, small crease is really bugging me (black circle), but i'll fix it this weekend. I'm not sure the rate I'll be able to work at since school has resumed, but I hope to have the front paneling done this weekend, perhaps the grill too. Here's an update photo. I've been having some trouble making the fender for the front wheels, which you'll see in the real-vehicle photo, but I'll probably leave it be for now and see later on how it looks and if it is really neccessary. I'm a bugger for detail, but I don't have much experience when it comes to something like that. Let me know if you have an idea of what to do about the fender. Thank you! I hope that I can allow time to make significant progress
Nice to hear from you! I'm not going for an exact 1:1 of the Suzuki Carry in regards to specs, but adding a few unique options, but thank you for the note! There is someone relatively near me with a kei truck (Daihatsu Midget ii), and I hope i can get in contact with them later on for engine sound. I should clarify, when I say top view image, I mean a direct overhead of the vehicle, but thank you for the image. I could probably do a little photoshop to fix proportions and see if that is help. I'll do my best to eyeball it and work with the side/front view. Thank you!
We will see. I don't know how far I will get, and also that the weight of that is probably close to the maximum load weight, but I'm sure it's possible with help in the future.
This thing is not a K-turck. (Not even close) (Yes , it's in a way based on the last gen. Mitsubishi Minicab(Before it became an OEM Suzuki Carry). But it's not a Kei.)
