Damn, comparing a 40% overlap test with a 100% overlap test, let's see if anything can top this stupidity today...

Here are THREE crash tests of the 2105(cheaper 2107):

100% overlap (or "full frontal impact") is the most unrealistic testing scenario. Pics you posted look like basic (mandatory) homologation tests at relatively low speed. In any real-life context, like a 40% overlap test at higher speed endured by the blue car above, any of these Ladas would perform pretty poorly, and that's inevitable...

Quality of steel used for sheetmetal has very little to do with performance in crash tests. The structure underneath is still fairly ancient and there's very little Lada could do to improve it significantly over time.

Early models were comparatively good in this sense, the 124 was a fairly advanced project by its own right.

By the end of the '70s though the basic design was getting kinda long in the tooth: while certainly improved over the early models, '80s Ladas were still pretty weak compared to newer, more modern designs.

So, while 2105/2107s probably performed a bit better than early 2101s in crash tests, they were hardly "strong" cars in absolute terms.

That doesn't really matter, the mod does worse than the car irl, that's what I am saying. Plus a 60s jap car wouldn't perform better than a 60s european car taken by the russians and made stronger to withstand their climate and infrastructure.

    - Car wasn't really made any stronger in crashes. Some stressed components were beefed-up (see, brakes and other mechanical moving parts), but that does not make the 2101 and following models any better than the 124 in crashes. FIAT-designed chassis improvements for the "124 R" project were also included in the european 124 at launch, just sayin'... Following Lada models only received surficial improvements that might marginally affect results - like, plastic dashboard, softer interior padding - but that's about it. Structure is very much the same as the early models. Ladas might feel sturdy and robust, but that doesn't really mean they would perform well in crashes...

    - Judging by pics, it doesn't really do "worse than the car IRL". If anything, mod seems a tad too strong, see pics of the ADAC-like test run on the blue car.

    - Given the Jbeam is very close to that of the Miramar, it's probably the Miramar itself in need of adjustments.

Sorry, let me translate that for you.

Sorry if it sounds like a demand, but in the future it would be nice if the available modifications were more accurate to the real life ones. Take the kopek (model 2101), for example. It never had a 1.5 or 1.6 litre engine, again, if you don't count the special modifications used by the law enforcement. The original model, 2101, had the 1.2 litre engine. Then there was the 21011 modification, which, among other small changes like the ventilation grilles on the C-pillars or bumpers with rubber strip instead of the overriders, had the 1.3 litre engine. There also was the 21013 modification, which, while looking identical to the 21011, had the original 1.2 litre engine. Anyway, I'm not the one to teach you, you can read this on Wikipedia, it has a pretty detailed article on this.
Another wish - to be able to switch parts, like take the wheels from 2106, since they have those nice chromed dog dish hubcaps, and install them on 2107, or the seats with integrated headrests from 2107 into 2101, or fuel injection engine from 2107 into 2106 and so on.

Are you making these wheels and hubcaps for the 2104? Or wood grain

Great mod! What about this config: 20191231_192032.jpg
We call this the "avtosh". This includes cut springs at the back, lifted suspension at front which results in cocked up handling. It's very prominent around where i live and has serious cult following. Would suit v2107 very much.
