I don't understand why talking to dogs is something people don't blink an eyelid at, yet talking to yourself is seen as weird. Sure, the dog is good at understanding human emotion, but it doesn't know your language, you are literally talking to yourself, with a creature that can't understand what you are saying. Yet even more confusingly, the people who talk to pigeons or cats are considered to be crazy. How did this standard come to exist?
