Speaking of, I'd actually appreciate some street performance suspension for the SFA. I want to see if I can make a D25 go Corvette mode with proper tuning.

Corvette uses transverse leafs tho, kinda like the old merc sprinter. D-series is just solid axle. To do corvette - ish you'd have to get a leaf spring option for the ifs which would be weird to say the least

Wouldn't enough stiff rear ARB make fine inner rear tire spinning effect of Corvette?

    Hot take but:

I think that the next vehicle won't be a modern crossover.

I think it will be an older car, one from 1914 to be precise. I don't think that this would come with the Gavril Series revamp.
It will be the first car made by Gavril. A possible name is Gavril Principo.
This would obviously be the oldest car in the game. The update would probably be titled: "The one that started it all" and quickly lead into the upcoming career mode. It's purpose in the career mode would be a cheap beater, or (as the luxury top config), an expensive collectible.

The car itself will look a lot like the Model T, but with a more "modern" engine and a rounder body. The config names will be named after european cities, with Sarajevo as the top config. The most affordable config would be called Sophie and be suitable for dirt racing around Utah:
    https://silodrome.com/ford-model-t-a-dirt-track-roadster/

Other configs are a convertible, hardtop and limousine versions. Engine swaps are also possible. Maybe that they can include a heavier chassis with a firetruck version as well. The last versions will be war-time cars with modifications for the battlefiels in Belgium(artillery puller, armored car prototype etc). Older car chassis' were used for everything anyways.
It would also be a great showcase for the game since those car disintregrate in a very spectacular, violent way because safety structures were completely absent those days.

The teasers by Diamondback are therefore a teaser for changes to the ETK800 which will get an Allroad config since that is missing badly in this game.
This will also make it an expensive but very suitable allrounder for the career since it handles well, offroads and pulls decently. Might have to beef up some parts to make it suitable for rally though . The current ETK's are way too weak in that regard so maybe they are waiting with strengtening them until the allroad controllers are finished.

I see what you did with the name there. I don't know why it should be a pre war vehicle… I'd prefer something a lot newer from the mid 2000s, a sedan/hatchback to smash around as a trashcar.

Doubt it. Devs have shown little interest in adding a pre-war car, plus only a loud minority of the community even wants one. The new vehicle is going to be something none of us expect.

That said, a high-end pre-war car would be pretty neat - we're talking 10-liter V16's producing all of 160 HP.

Great hot-take, definitely an interesting read.

But is a pre-war car practical, and will it have a major use? Most cars in this game showcase some kind of technology or new feature, such as the E-SBR showcasing electric powertrains. What would a pre-war car showcase beside the collision physics you mentioned?

No, we have far too many old cars actually. We need more practical modern cars, because this isn't Forza.

If we consider cars older than 1960, it seems to be a lot more than a "loud minority", if anything just the opposite. On that one page were that was debated, pro-pre-war car posts were getting 6-12 "agree" ratings, compared to like 2-5 on most posts from the opposing side.

But yeah, we are overdue for a modern car.

Auriga 1927 was really popular. There is also second unreleased mod with pre-war car that a lot of people waiting. I doubt it is minority of the community that want pre-war car.

And that V12 you're talking should be V16 if you want that power in 30s.

If what I can see on Craigslist is true, then the actual Southwestern cheap beaters are late 90s/early 00s economy cars, various 90s FWD Americana and Japanese stuff (midsizers, fullsizes, minivans), plus some 70s/80s trucks/SUVs, 70s/80s Americana and 80s Benzes and Volvos.

Here in the US a car like Blijo described can often be found for cheap just becuase they made so many Model T's. That being said, even the Franklin that was at drag week this year was like a 30 second car. Sensible beaters are more or less what you listed. Personally one of the cars on my "what we need in Beam" shortlist is a cheap 1980/1990s mid/rear engined sports car (ex: Fiero/MR2/Delorean) to function as a hipster starter car/beater in career mode.

The Fiero could be a cheap beater car, but most of the cheap daily-driveable ones have bitten the dust by now. Same with old MR2s.

I generally see beater level ones for 5k USD or less (average 2-3k) and nice examples for around $10k, which puts it in line with what will probably be the career mode starter car values. Plus it would be funny to make Jimmy Broadbent drive a BeamNG-ified MR2.

2-3k is still far more than the really cheap used cars.

I'm on an island at the snowline, with all the salt we get that's as about cheap as you can find something that's still street legal. It puts the price around the same as the other affordable decent cars in Beam.

The Beam prices are for well-maintained examples. Divide by, well, somewhere around 2-3, and you'll get beater prices.

So for a career starter car the player could get a mint base model LeGran or a "could be worse" mid-engined not sporty sports car. I'd be fine with that.
